Lip filler dissolving - Restoring natural anatomy. 💉

This patient presented with lips that had been overfilled over time, leading to several concerns not only in overall appearance, but also in tissue health. Excessive and repeated filler can compromise natural lip anatomy and, in some cases, affect blood supply to certain areas of the tissue, increasing risk and impacting long term outcomes.

The priority in this case was safety and restoration, not immediate re-augmentation. A full dissolve was performed to return the lips as close as possible to their natural state, allowing the tissues to recover, rehydrate, and regain normal function.

Once the tissue has fully healed and stabilised, we can reassess and, if appropriate, proceed with a carefully planned, anatomy led enhancement using conservative volumes and correct placement.

In aesthetic practice, knowing when not to add more is just as important as knowing how to treat. Long term results always begin with healthy tissue. ✨

This treatment was carefully planned for a young patient with naturally small lips and a gummy smile, where respecting her natural anatomy was essential. Due to her lip structure, higher filler volumes were not suitable, as this could have compromised balance and movement.

Instead, a slow and gentle approach was chosen, focusing on gradual enhancement to improve fullness while preserving softness and natural expression.

The treatment was complimented with muscle relaxing injections to help reduce excessive lip elevation on smiling, allowing for improved lip eversion and the appearance of fuller lips without overfilling.

The result is a refined, harmonious outcome natural, balanced, and tailored specifically to her facial anatomy.

This patient presented with partial filler migration in the upper lip. The priority was first to restore natural anatomy and tissue health, rather than adding more product. A partial dissolve was performed to gently break down the migrated filler and allow the lips to return to a more balanced state.

After allowing two weeks for the lips to settle, a small amount of filler was carefully reintroduced, focusing on hydration, balance, and softness, rather than volume.

Corrective treatments like this require patience and precision, but the result is a more natural, harmonious lip shape that moves and feels as it should.

Sometimes, stepping back is the most important part of moving forward.
