Such a beautiful morning with lots of promise for a beautiful day. Woke up and the first thing I noticed was the smell of the sea wafting through my bedroom window, even though I’m about a mile from the nearest shore. Such a fresh scent that invokes memories of childhood when I lived in another coastal resort. I was fortunate to have wonderful parents and a healthy, balanced upbringing with lots of time spent doing things that cost nothing, days at the beach, walks in the countryside followed by a picnic of tea brewed on a tiny primus stove, cheese and crackers (Jacob’s being my favourite and still are), my mum always took bone china cups and saucers on our picnics, no, we didn’t have a lot of money but mum had standards she would not compromise, and she had multiple part time jobs, sometimes 3 each day to keep on top of the finances.
My grandchildren recently visited from the States and they wanted to walk up a hill by the pub we’d gone to for lunch. They’d not experienced such a huge expanse of countryside that they could play and walk in. My grandson simply wanted to walk up the hill so that he could roll down it. We walked for 1.5 hours and they said that was one of the most fun parts of their holiday 💖💙
Life isn’t about buying the latest, the biggest, the best, it’s about experiences that give us memories we can cherish. Sometimes it’s the most natural, simplest of things that bring us joy, happiness and spark the best memories for us.
Happy Sunday everyone, Love, Light and Angel Blessingsto you all 💖🙏🏼 xx
