We often think self-empowerment means 'feeling good about ourselves' and this pumped up egoic sense of self is not always particularly helpful. Self-empowerment requires a deep and sincere willingness to look at what you do to yourself to keep yourself diminished, and the courage to change it.

Reiki Teacher vs. Spiritual Teacher
Often students have extremely unrealistic expectations of what a Reiki Teacher 'should' be like, as Teachers we may often have the same unrealistic expectations of ourselves too - but there is a great distinction between a Reiki Teacher who provides information and guidance on your path of Reiki learning, and a spiritual teacher. Your Reiki teacher gives you information, your spiritual teacher is the wisdom within you who uses the information to grow.
Why is Reiki not working?

Solving your problems and finding peace and balance in your life is an inside job, and Reiki helps you do this through self-Reiki and coming into your own centre.

Many healers think their job is to 'fix' their clients, in Reiki healing we encourage people to focus on being present and open and stop cluttering up the space with their unnecessary thinking. The real gift is in your ability to fully accept and be OK with everything exactly as it is.
