Why Props Are Essential in Restorative Yoga?🤔
Restorative Yogas purpose is to create the conditions for deep rest, release, and nervous system regulation. 😊
The key to this practice lies in the use of props.
One-to-one restorative yoga session & classes props are not optional extras – they are central to the experience!
This is the power of restorative yoga: through the thoughtful use of props, the practice becomes less about doing and more about receiving, nurturing, and allowing the body to heal. 🥰

Did you know I offer
Blissful Sound Healing & Ayurvedic Experience 🤔
This is a treatment like no other!
What you can expect to experience in this 2-hour treatment:
While you relax to the soothing sounds and vibrations of the Tibetan bowls, you will begin to feel a deep state of relaxation, as the sound begins to alter your brain patterns from the Beta state (fight or flight) to arrive into the Alpha/Theta state (parasympathetic/ rest digest).
Feelings of stress and anxiety begin to gently melt away.🥰
You will then experience an even deeper state of relaxation as I begin the blissful
Ayurvedic face-lift massage.
The strokes and sequences will relax the muscles in the face and neck, improving your facial muscle tone, optimising the flow of nutrients into the skin of the face and reduce visual signs of ageing such as fine lines and crow’s feet.😊
Summary:
❤️Release from fight or flight
🩷Melt stress and anxiety
🧡Relax facial muscles
💛Optimise nutrient flow
💚Reduce signs of ageing

What Restorative Yoga Really Is 🤔
The term restorative yoga is used widely but often misunderstood.
True restorative yoga is not simply “slow yoga” or “yin-inspired yoga.”
It is a specific, intentional practice designed to invite deep rest and nervous system balance.
What it involves:
❤️Postures held for 5–20 minutes
💚Use of props (bolsters, blankets, blocks, chairs) for complete comfort
🧡Stillness, minimal stimulation, quiet atmosphere
💜A focus on ease rather than stretch or effort
How it feels:
🩷Deeply calming, like releasing a long-held breath
💛Grounding, soothing, and nourishing
🩵Sometimes profoundly emotional, as the body and mind find safety
✨️The essence of restorative yoga is rest.
It’s not about flexibility or strength—it’s about creating the conditions where healing, regulation, and renewal can naturally unfold. 🥰

I have been teaching Hatha Yoga since 2004 when I qualified with Kevala Yoga centre. I feel it is important to be aware of all aspects of Yoga, so i like to teach some yoga philosophies within the class that can lead to a theme throughout. I also have a diploma in Mindfulness meditation which I incorporate into the sessions, to keep awareness with the present moment and connected to our bodies. I have also taught one-one sessions for children with Cystic Fibrosis, to help correct their posture and manage their breathing, as well as Secondary schools to pre- exam age, to encourage them to manage their exam stress with the aid of breathing and relaxation techniques.
In March 2018 I trained in Restorative Yoga which has the most profound effects by simply resting in postures, whilst being supported by bolsters and blankets whilst focusing with the flow of the breath & all owing it to release tension. This practice is fantastic for helping to reprogram the nervous system, supporting you to let go of deeply held tension in the body and Mind and to support better sleep, so great for those with busy, stressful lives. This practice is particularly beneficial for those who suffer with high blood pressure, insomnia. stress, in recovery from illness as well as sufferers of fibromyalgia & M.E.
I run weekly classes and monthly workshops as well as offering 1:1 sessions in both Restorative Yoga and Hatha Yoga.
Contact me to discuss how both these practices can support you.
