Same as last year, not really New Year’s resolutions just a few things to work on with will have huge positive outcomes on every aspect of life.

A big one for me this year will be pushing the business side of things more, not really keen on social media but it works so I’ll do more of it.

If you want to hear about anything I do, common complaints, current clients etc just shoot me a message. Plus it gives me more content ideas.

I wish you all a happy and healthy new year.

Expanding on from yesterdays post…

This isn’t about standing tall and ridged, more about how we naturally hold ourselves and the positions we can move in and out of.

Think of the wheels on a car when they are misaligned they wear unevenly and you can feel the steering wheel shudder upon breaking.

The same can be said for us, when we are misaligned we over compensated with certain muscles and under use others which can lead to a whole host of problems.

By having every muscle in the body pulling and firing as it should, every breath, every step and movement becomes easier. This is why after treatment clients state they feel lighter on their feet.

This is not achieved by cracks and pops but by releasing muscles that are pulling too much and “firing” up muscles that aren’t pulling enough. Everything works on tensegrity.

I feel I could ramble on for ages on this but to wrap it up, if you feel like this is something you can relate you hit me up and see if this is something that could benefit you.

The mind can either be the cure or the curse.

Think about it:

Spend an hour reading the news, and suddenly the world feels heavy, depressing, and hopeless.

Spend an hour in nature, moving your body, or focusing on gratitude — and life feels lighter, full of possibility.

Same world. Same circumstances. Just a different lens.

Your mind is always shaping your reality. Choose carefully what you feed it.

You can literally make your mind either your medicine or your poison.

If your body is a machine and some of the wires are damaged, then the machine can never function as a whole.

Scars no matter how deep can modify the collagen to the point where instead of being a conductor of energy to all cells in the body, it becomes a barrier which blocks cellular communication.

This is why so many people feel like the pain has gone away after surgeries but feel like range of motion isn’t the same. Having these blockages can cause a number of knock on effects as well.

Good news is that using the machines I have, treating scars is a relatively simple treatment that is none invasive and causes little to no pain. Treating the scar tissue is about restoring the electrical potential and the reduction in restricted feeling and red lumpy skin is just a by product of this.

So far I have treated scars on knee replacement, shoulder surgery, C-sections, ankle surgeries, appendix removal and many more.

Any questions about your scars shoot me a DM.

This can be down to a number of reasons, but usually just muscles becoming tight over time or after an impact like rugby hit ect.

Always something to look at as imagine the toll it would take walking around with a slight limp all day everyday.

In this case it was coming from the neck/ shoulders and using the machine to treat it has such a huge range of benefits. Check out the second slide.

That sharp, shooting pain down the back of your leg isn’t just a muscle issue — it’s often linked to nerve compression, inflammation, and even how you breathe.

When breathing patterns are restricted (especially with stress or injury), muscles around the lower back, hips, and pelvis tense up.
This creates more pressure on the sciatic nerve — feeding the pain cycle.

If you suffer from chronic sciatic or any pain for that matter then it’s not going to be a quick rub down from a therapist and you’ll be on your way.

It’s going to take a combined response of hands on treatments and a couple of lifestyle changes to ease that muscle tension, get you moving better and calm down that nervous system to really “fix” the problem.

DM me if you suffer from any form of chronic pain and I’ll let you know what I can do to help you improve your symptoms.

Quite often I get asked the question of how I differ from a Physio/massage therapist ect and to be honest there is no straight answer as everyone is different in how they work.

Here is generally how I work as a neuromuscular therapist, I treat the person as a whole. I look at where the complaint is, where else/ what else could be triggering it and how best to over come it while being realistic with the clients needs and time.
There will be a lot of questions around home life, stress, diet, exercise, duration of complaint, other health issues etc.

For example a 40 year old woman with 3 kids, a full time job and a mortgage to pay, complaining of back pain is going to have a completely different treatment to say a 20 year old man who works part time, lives with their parents and injured their back playing rugby on the weekend.

Any questions send me a dm

Not really New Year’s resolutions but just a few things I want to try and work on this year and a few things I want to leave behind in 2024.

Everyone give New Year’s resolutions a bad rep but I think it’s good to have a few short term and long term goals in life, doesn’t have to be anything drastic but a small step in the right direction is always gonna be a bonus.

I feel us as a nation in Northern Ireland really just get stuck in a rut in life and this is where all the midlife crisis’ stem from. There’s nothing wrong with having ambitions and wanting to better yourself in any aspect of your live and we should be proud of anyone who wants to make a change for the better.

You don’t have to go mad and smash it out all of January and for it to be too big a change and then not stick to it, but break it up over a year, if it less screen time then cut down by a few min a week. By the end of the year you’ll barely use the phone.

Try writing down (preferably on paper) a few small achievable goals for 2024 and check in with them every so often and see how you’re getting on.

What’s you’s ins and outs for the new year?
