At Physiorehabservices.com we're very proud to be supporting Neurodiversity week. We understand Neurodiversity on both a personal and professional level, and work hard with all our adults and children to ensure their needs are met in each and every Physiotherapy session.

Neurodiversity week is about breaking stigmas and stereotypes surrounding Neurodiversity. With that in mind, I have a few key messages:

I often hear people say we are 'all a bit neurodiverse' and while I truly believe it comes from a good place, it undermines the challenges neurodiverse people are faced with all day, every day.

Neurodiverse characteristics cannot be fixed or changed. Furthermore, there is not a piece of them missing or broken, which is why the puzzle piece is often offensive. Neurodiverse people have to work incredibly hard to try and fit themselves into a world not made for them. We call this masking.

If you're interested in learning more about Neurodiversity, I'd highly recommend speaking to neurodiverse adults. With education and a better understanding we can create a brighter future for our neurodiverse children.
