Cambian Beverley School is delighted to announce a new partnership with Rewilding in Hull, an inspiring urban wild space where young people can learn outdoors through craft and bushcraft activities.
Time spent in nature is known to boost mood and wellbeing, and this space gives our young people the chance to be themselves and connect with one another in a natural, nurturing environment.
Principal Melissa McCarthy was named as the national winner for Principal of the Year at the CareTech Children’s Care Awards 2025!

Twixmas at Hill House
If you’ve never heard of Twixmas, it’s the special time between Christmas and New Year, a little pocket of extra festive days to relax, have fun, and enjoy family time.
At Hill House School, the days between Christmas and New Year are spent doing all the fun things that families do; playing games, spending time outside when the weather is good, watching festive movies and sometimes our young people spend time at their family home or on trips.
There’s lots of time for playing with new toys and presents, sharing laughs, and perhaps a little over indulgence!
From all of us at Cambian, we wish you a very Happy Christmas! May your day be merry and bright.

Christmas truly brings out the magic at Cambian Hill House School. It’s a season wrapped in joy, tradition, and a real sense of family for all our young people.
In the weeks leading up to the big day, the school is buzzing with festive fun; carol rehearsals echoing through the halls, visits from Jilly the Donkey (a firm favourite!), creative Christmas activities, and plenty of pantomime magic both on site and at local theatres.
Hill House also puts on its very own Christmas show each year. This time, students are performing The Night of the Saviour’s Birth and visits neighbouring Cambian Southlands School for their annual pantomime. The term then ends with a special celebration to recognise the incredible progress and achievements made throughout the year.
And Christmas Day itself is just as you’d expect in family homes across the country. Father Christmas visits each young person with gifts, and everyone gathers in the beautifully decorated hall for a festive lunch, it’s a true home-from-home celebration.
This is Christmas at Hill House: filled with warmth, laughter and togetherness.

Cambian is one of the largest providers of specialist education and behavioural health services for children in the UK. Our services have a specific focus on individuals who present with high severity needs.
We provide a broad range of specialist services across England and Wales. These services include specialist education schools and colleges for both day and residential learners, residential care homes and a therapeutic fostering service.
Our specialist education schools and colleges support children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Asperger Syndrome (AS), moderate to severe learning disabilities, associated challenging behaviours and complex needs.
Our specialist residential care homes support children with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) and associated complex needs. We provide care, therapy and education for a discrete cohort of needs within these homes; this includes provisions for children who have experienced Complex Trauma (neglect and abuse), those who have been sexually exploited, and those with a learning disability. These homes are all supported by specialists schools to support their individual educational needs.
We also run a therapeutic fostering service through which we are able to support children with a variety of complex needs within a family environment.
We recognise that each child is an individual with their own needs, desires and dreams, and we are fully committed to supporting each child to enable them to achieve ‘their personal best’.
