I am a fully qualified (HPD, DSFH, BA Hons), accredited and insured clinical Solution Focused Hypnotherapist. My practice is based in Potton, Bedfordshire but I can also work with you online from anywhere in the world. I specialise in supporting people feeling anxious, overwhelmed and stressed but can support with a wide range of symptoms. I am so passionate about the solution focused approach and

have seen it change so many lives, including my own! Solution Focused Hypnotherapy combines forward thinking talking psychotherapy (taking elements of SFBT, CBT and NLP) and hypnosis and is a very modern and up to date approach based on the latest neuroscience. We work on moving forward and helping you to become the best version of yourself again, without the need to dwell on the past or focus on the problem. We focus on helping you to find solutions, reduce anxiety and stress levels (all of which contribute to many other conditions), as well as changing behaviours and unhelpful thinking patterns. We also help you to understand how your brain works and why you feel and behave the way you do. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy combines both conscious and sub-conscious change. I do love a trend 😅💗…

I’m probably not the therapist for you if you want a magic wand, someone to “fix” you overnight or therapy that feels cold and clinical.

But I might be the right fit if you want a calm, supportive, realistic approach that helps you understand your brain a little better, reduce overwhelm and move forwards bit by bit 👏.

Therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating.

Some reviews hit differently 🥹…

Working with children and teens is all about helping them feel safe, calmer and more in control of their own minds again 💭.

This young person came to me with huge anxiety around needles and vaccinations, alongside months of panic, overwhelm and sleepless nights. Over 6 sessions we focused first on reducing overall anxiety levels, before working specifically on the needle phobia and now he’s fully vaccinated, sleeping better, calmer and more socially engaged 🫶.

Parents-thank you for trusting me with your children. It’s something I never take lightly 🥺🥰🩷.

A little business milestone 🎉…

Songbird Hypnotherapy is now a registered trademark® ✨

After 7 years of building this business, retraining, studying, showing up consistently, supporting clients, supervising therapists and pouring so much of myself into this brand… this feels really special to me 🥰.

I’ve worked incredibly hard for Songbird Hypnotherapy and this brand deserves to be protected, recognised and trademarked.

Thank you to every client, supervisee and supporter who’s been part of the journey so far 🩷. It really does mean the world to me.

Last night’s BAFTAs had some really powerful reminders about human potential, change and resilience.

16 year old Owen Cooper, who won for Adolescence in his first ever acting role, spoke about having “a dream with a vision.”

And Martin Lewis, receiving his BAFTA Special Award, spoke about believing that things can change.

Honestly, those two messages are at the core of so much of the work I do with clients.

When people first come to therapy, they’re often exhausted, overwhelmed and stuck in survival mode. Anxiety, stress, low mood and overthinking can make the future feel very small. The brain becomes focused on problems, threat and “what ifs.”

But therapy is often about slowly helping people reconnect with possibility again.

Not toxic positivity.Not pretending life is perfect.But helping the brain move out of constant survival mode so you can think more clearly, feel more rational and start noticing opportunities, solutions and hope again.

You do not need to have everything figured out.You do not need to feel confident all the time.But having even a small vision of what life could look like and allowing yourself to believe change is possible can be the start of everything.

Because so many people who now look “confident” or “successful” once felt anxious, stuck, lost or completely overwhelmed too.

Things can change.Brains can change.Patterns can change.Lives can change.

Sometimes the hardest part is simply allowing yourself to believe that they can.

As a therapist, I’m very pro medication when it’s needed 💊.

I’ve personally found medication hugely helpful at points in my own life and I’ve seen it help many of my clients too.

Sometimes medication creates enough breathing space for somebody to begin functioning again… sleeping better, calming the nervous system slightly, reducing the intensity of anxiety or low mood and helping them engage more effectively in therapy and daily life.

But one thing a lot of people don’t realise is this…

SSRIs don’t give you serotonin.

They work by helping the brain hold onto and recycle the serotonin you’re already producing, rather than it being reabsorbed too quickly.

Which means we still need to support the brain to PRODUCE serotonin in the first place.

That’s where lifestyle factors matter so much…
✨ Sleep�✨ Movement �✨ Nutrition �✨ Sunlight�✨ Reducing chronic stress�✨ Social connection�✨ Purpose and routine�✨ Healthier thinking habits

None of these things are a magic wand on their own.�And neither is medication.
But together? That’s often where real change starts happening.
This is also why some people feel frustrated when they’ve been on medication for years but still don’t quite feel like themselves again.

Medication can help stabilise the system… but therapy and lifestyle changes help create longer term change and healthier neural pathways moving forward.

That’s one of the reasons I love Solution Focused Hypnotherapy so much, we’re not just talking about problems endlessly. We’re actively helping your brain move out of survival mode, reduce stress levels and build new patterns and behaviours both consciously and subconsciously.

If medication has helped to a point but you feel like you still need that extra support to properly move forward, therapy can be the missing piece.
