Good morning everyone ☀️

We’re really excited to share the date for Emma’s introductory session at Calme.

Emma is joining the Calme family to help us explore something many of us are thinking about right now — how to create a healthier, calmer, more balanced way of living, especially around food, habits and looking after ourselves.

If you feel ready for a bit of a reset, a new chapter, or simply a more homely and thoughtful way of approaching food and wellbeing, this evening will be a lovely place to start.

This will be a free, relaxed introductory evening where you can meet Emma, hear a little about what she’ll be bringing to Calme, and chat with her about the groups and ideas she has planned.

There’s no pressure at all — just a friendly space to listen, ask questions, and see if the upcoming sessions might be something that feels right for you.

If you can’t arrive exactly at 6pm, please don’t worry — just wander down when you can.

The only thing we ask is that you book online, just so we have an idea of numbers and can make sure everyone is comfortable.

As my second client this morning discovered 😅

Yep, you can do a full work out just using your own body weight.

Following our session this morning I’ll send my lovely lady a message covering everything we did with videos so she can do it all at home without me.

Why? Because I don’t just want my clients to be working out once a week when they see me. I want them to be able to carry it on at home, independently and confidently.

That’s why I offer full wraparound support and guess what? It’s all included in your session fee. I don’t even charge extra.

Rest isn’t just about getting a good night’s sleep.
It’s also those small opportunities you can sneak in the day when you can take a minute and let your mind catch up with your body.

Taking a few minutes to switch off doesn’t make you lazy, it makes you human. It’s ok!

Those small resets help you show up with more energy, clarity and patience for everything that matters.

So if you needed a reminder today: it’s okay to slow down. Your body and mind will thank you!

🌻 Bonus tip: get off your phone an hour before bed to make sure you DO get a good night’s sleep!

Watch this space 👀 I’m super excited to be joining the Calme family and working with Caroline.

Good morning. Well what an amazing week it’s been. I was so worried that this wouldn’t work but early signs are amazing. Fabric sales, Paintopia, talking tables, it all happened this week and I have been on a high. I have absolutely loved my week. 🥰
My next big news to share is the welcome addition to the Calme family of Emma Bradbury! Emma is joining the family and bringing with her some amazing opportunities to attend groups, workshops and collaborative foodie events - sharing her knowledge and coaching around food, weight management and so much more. So ladies (and gents of course) we will have some healthy food events and some great opportunities to chat to Emma and rediscover ourselves in ways we never thought possible. More on Emma over the weekend but for now a great big friendly welcome would be lovely!🥰 xx

However if you are looking for someone who gets it, who’s been where you are and who knows what it’s like to ‘just get started’ then you are in the right place. I’m ya gal 🙋🏼‍♀️

This body is never gonna carry off a crop top and hipster jeans (and doesn’t actually want to) but it can lift and it has run a marathon and at 44 it feels better than it did at 24.

If you’re new to the gym, you don’t need anything complicated! Just start with the basics and get them right.

In this reel I’m doing lateral raises, frontal raises, bicep curls and hammer curls because they’re some of the best exercises for beginners starting their upper-body training.

Here’s why they’re effective:

🌻 Simple movements to learn: dumbbell exercises are easy to pick up and help you focus on proper form before moving to heavier or more complex lifts.

🌻 Build shoulder strength and stability: lateral and front raises target different parts of the shoulders, helping you develop balanced strength and better posture.

🌻 Stronger arms: bicep curls and hammer curls are great for building arm strength and muscle, which also helps with other lifts and everyday movements.

🌻 Improve control and coordination: using dumbbells forces each arm to work independently, helping correct imbalances and improve overall control.

🌻 Perfect foundation exercises- these movements build the strength you’ll need later for bigger compound lifts like presses, rows and pull-ups.

Start light, focus on good form and stay consistent. The basics will always pay off!

I used to think that I had to be able to go to the gym for an hour every time or it wasn’t worth going.

And because of that guess what?? I never actually went! Because it’s very rare that I ever have an hour.

So many years of wasted gym memberships and wasted money.

It took me a long time to shed my all or nothing trait. And I’m still working on it! But now I know that even 20 minutes is better than no minutes. And actually a focused 20 minutes it better than a faffy hour!

I’d planned on heading to the gym this morning , but traffic had other ideas! So I ended up with 30 minutes. I had to rethink so I headed home with a new plan. Two dumbbells ✔️ 20 minute work out ✔️

There’s 10080 minutes in a week! Are you ready to commit a few of them to yourself? And to getting stronger and fitter? More toned? Building your confidence? Feeling better within yourself?
