Primrose Bank provides Residential, Respite and Senior Day care to people over 65 years of age We are registered and regulated by the CQC.

We are a family run care home in Poulton Le Fylde, recently extended to 45 bedrooms. We provide short and long term care, personal care, rehabilitation and life fulfillment for the over 65s.

Yesterday we made Orange and White chocolate chip cookies 🍪
We began by washing our hands, and then each resident took their turn in breaking the eggs, sieving the flour and mixing.
We found the ice cream scoop worked really well for portioning out the cookies, and once that was done, we popped them in the oven. Everyone had a spoon full of the mix to help “clean the bowl”, bringing back lots of memories and prompting conversations.
The residents had them after tea and said they were delicious! 😋

Since Christmas, our Knitters 🧶 have been super busy knitting blankets and nests for Pixie’s Wildlife Rescue & Brambles Wildlife Rescue and so far have knitted 40 blankets and more than 50 nests that have been split between each charity.
It’s incredibly rewarding for the residents to see the animals using the things they’ve knitted. Look at that little Bunny 🐰 🥰
This wouldn’t be possible without Helen and Jo that are here every week and always on hand to help, so a big thank you to you both. ❤️

Today we had a brand new activity that we’ll trial for a month. The Monday Mixer. After the success of our Wellbeing Week in July, The Monday Mixer will incorporate a seated exercise class and finish with a smoothie , of which the residents will choose the ingredients.

This morning went really well and the residents enjoyed both the class and the smoothie. The video was easy to follow and we’ve decided that next week we’ll use fruit grown in our garden by the residents for our smoothie so that everyone can enjoy the fruits of their labour.

Hello everyone, we hope you’ve had a great weekend! A new week brings a new Activity Schedule, so here’s what the residents have to look forward to this week…

Today we have a brand new activity, The Monday Mixer, incorporating exercise and a smoothie, starting the week the right way!
This afternoon we’ll update you with how our Knitting Group are getting along with Helen & Jo. 🧶
Tomorrow morning we’ll have Dominoes and then Live Music from Liam Halewood. 🎙️
On Wednesday morning we’ll explore another National Park with a Netflix Documentary 📺 and we’ll follow up with a quiz ⁉️
Thursday it’s “eyes down” for Bingo in the morning , and then after lunch we’re going to do some Baking 🧑‍🍳👩‍🍳
Well round the week up with our weekly Art Class with Karl, and this weeks Friday exercise class will be taken by Sonia. 🤸‍♀️🏋️‍♀️

And that’s us for the week! As always, families and friends are welcome to join us for the Entertainment on Tuesday. ❤️

Although there were some faces we recognised, yesterday there were plenty of new face’s when Kids Planet Poulton came to play!
The kids were as good as gold and the residents were on great form which made for a super wholesome afternoon playing games.
There were so many adorable moments, that there was only one way to show you…. Take a look at our video! 👦👵❤️👧👴

Once a month, we’re lucky to have Martin from St Chad's Parish Church join us for a service at PRB.
There’s always a great turnout, and it allows residents that are unable to attend Church to continue to practice their faith within their own home. We’re very grateful!

We have an activity-packed week ahead for our residents at PRB. (Slightly later than usual) Here’s what we have planned…

Yesterday afternoon, our knitters gathered with Helen and Jo, continuing on various projects for the church and local animal rescues.
This morning we’ve had Martin from St Chads for our monthly service.
Everyone’s sat ready for lunch and following that, we’ll have Live Music from Rachel Mercer - Care Home Entertainment.
Tomorrow we’ll have Flower Arranging with a quiz in the afternoon.
On Thursday, Bingo will take up our morning, and then we’ll welcome a new group of ‘Littles’ from Kids Planet Poulton after lunch.
On Friday we have Art with our tutor, Karl in the morning, then we’ll finish off our week with Yoga led by Yoga with Sophie.

With the chance of any more Summer weather quickly disappearing, we went out again this week, this time to The Blackpool Tower Ballroom for Afternoon Tea.
The Ballroom held a special place in the hearts of our residents, and they shared their cherished memories with us. Dancing with their husbands or friends on the same dance floor they were watching other people dance.
Whilst most were content to watch, we were happy to oblige Joan and Inah, who just had to have a dance. Lots of happy memories made, we had a ball(room). ❤️

A lovely little trip out this morning to Club 3000 Bingo to catch the first game! No winners this time 😩, but we had a ride to Notarianni Ices Blackpool 🍦which helped everyone quickly forget our losses!
Some residents (and staff! 👀) had never had a ‘Notties’, others not for years, so it was lovely to see everyone’s faces when they tasted it, and completely understood why they’re a cherished local institution that has been serving the community for generations. ❤️
The ice cream, coupled with a drive right along the prom, prompted conversations about years gone by and before we knew it, we were right back at PRB. Great trip!

Here’s what’s going on at PRB this week…

We’ve had Bingo this afternoon, with life changing prizes, as always 😉

Tomorrow we’ll start the day with Dominoes and then Liam Halewood will be here to come and sing for everyone 🎙️

Wednesday we’ll have a documentary in the morning, and a quiz to follow. Bev will be in the salon throughout the day ✂️

On Thursday, we’re off out to the Bingo and back after lunch for the Knitting with Helen and Jo 🧶

Friday is slightly different, as Karl the Art Tutor is away. But we’ll still get together and get creative! 🎨 After fish & chips Sonia will be here to round off the week with an exercise class.

Liam will be fantastic tomorrow, so if any of our families or friends of PRB would like to join us, there’s always a seat for you. ❤️
