👋 Hello …

Apologies that I’ve been a little quiet on socials, but I’m just settling back into uni life, I have just started in my MSc degree in Veterinary Physiotherapy (as if my life wasn’t busy enough 🙈).
I am still treating clients, and taking on new customers but am now fitting this around my studies so please be patient with me 😊

I am so excited to be on the Veterinary physiotherapy course, as horses and dogs and a huge part of my life 💕

Cupping magic 🪄

Cupping is particularly useful for relieving fascial tightness - fascia is the connective tissue holding all internal parts of the body together. It is just as important to keep this mobile to keep your muscles loose as it allows for unrestricted, pain-free movement.

What is Sciatica ???
Sciatica is where the sciatic nerve, which runs from your lower back to your feet, is irritated or compressed.

Symptoms include:
- Pain in lower back or down legs (the pain may be stabbing, burning or shooting)
- Tingling – like pins and needles
- Numbness or change in sensation in feet
- Weakness of lower body

Suffering from Plantar fasciitis ???

I can help with that.
Plantar fasciitis is pain on the bottom of your foot, around your heel and arch. It is caused by irritating or damaging your plantar fascia. This can be caused by things like:
- Being on your feet all day for work.
Playing sports.
- Exercising without stretching or warming up.
-Wearing shoes that don’t support your feet well enough (like flip flops)
-Walking or standing barefoot while you’re at home.

came in for a well deserved and long overdue treatment last week.

Complaints of a tight and sore right shoulder and mid/lower back, I found reduced range of movement above head and lots of muscle cohesions and knots.

Deep tissue massage, pressure point realising and cupping definitely did the trick and she’s back to training as normal after a few active recovery days 💪🏼

Cupping therapy

What is it ?
This is one of the oldest and most effective method of releasing the toxins from body tissue and organs. It is a done by placing special cups on the skin to create suction. The suction causes the tissue beneath the cup to be drawn up, causing an increase in blood flow to affected area. The increased blood flow under the cups draws impurities and toxins away from the nearby tissues and organs towards the surface for elimination

Thought I should take the time to introduce my self properly 😊

My Names Amy and I started AP therapy in July after graduating from university. After many NHS placements and working with the Saints Rugby team I decided I preferred to work in MSK Physiotherapy and enjoyed helping people reach their full potential weather that be in day to day life or a new PB in the gym.

When I am not working you’ll probably find me covered in mud, weather that be from walking dogs or playing with my ponies 😊

In the future I am hoping to go back to university and do my degree in equine and canine Physiotherapy 🤞🏼

Physiotherapy is very different to sports massage, yes I will use sports massage techniques in a physiotherapy treatment plan, but physiotherapy is more personal and targets an individuals specific injury or weakness.

ACL, MCL and LCL rehabilitation in progress 🚧 My client plays collage level football over in America and finished the season with a knee injury. We will be spending the next month getting her back ready for her to go back to America and participate in pre season. This session we started with a physiotherapist manipulation to get the knee moving nicely and a warm up rub for the quad, hamstring, calf. The exercises focused on control, balance, stability and putting trust back into the knee. Finally we ended the session with another muscle rub and flush. Excited to watch her progression as her mind set and passion for the sport is the driving force behind her rehabilitation 💪🏼
