Grounding/ Earthing explained:
Have you ever wondered why it feels so good to lay on a beach, or walk through a forest, or even just to sit on the grass for a while? That moment when your body and mind feel in a state of pure relaxation and bliss?
While it would be easy to assume that this feeling is merely the result of setting aside any work tasks, chores or a busy schedule – there is a greater force at work – our powerful planet. And, as magnificent as the winds, oceans and weather systems are, I am talking about something even greater…the ground beneath our feet.
Our Earth has a slight negative electrical charge running through it. By connecting with this energy, any residual positively-charged energy is absorbed into the Earth – much in the same way that all our household electricals are ‘earthed’ through our plug sockets. The Earth removes any static energy from our bodies; neutralising our magnetic charge, to leave us feeling peaceful, relaxed, and rejuvenated.
Earthing/grounding reestablishes our vital, balanced connection with the Earth. Evidence from a plethora of research demonstrates the very real benefits to those who ground/earth, from less pain, to better sleep, to a more optimistic outlook on their lives – the list is endless and the benefits are real.
How to Earth/ ground:
Skin-to-skin contact! We are all aware of the importance of skin-to-skin contact between a newborn baby and their parents, and the physical and emotional benefits to all involved – this is no different! We all benefit from skin-to-skin contact with our mother Earth, and all have the power to ‘tap in’ to this natural healing energy. It will help to balance your body, mind and soul – enabling you to find peace; relief from inflammation and pain; and to re-evaluate and re-energise.
Being barefooted is the easiest way to make a connection, and can be done anywhere, at any time, without the need for pre-planning.
However, for those times when being barefooted isn’t an option, e.g. in public spaces; if the terrain isn’t foot-friendly; or if you don’t feel comfortable without your shoes; there are other options, depending on whether you are inside or outside. There is a growing market of plug-in products available, from bedsheets to mats, to wrist bands – it really depends on what would suit your individual needs.
What our Grounding Canes have to offer:
Our grounding canes are perfect for those times when being barefooted isn’t an option, e.g. rough terrain, public spaces. Each of our canes is wrapped with 4m of copper wire, which is connected internally to a copper base. Copper’s natural conductive properties allow the Earth to draw any positively charged/ static energy away from you, removing many unwanted symptoms with it (pain, anxiety, stress, high blood pressure).
