Creating Space for Lasting Change through Supervision

As a Person-Centred Supervisor, I provide a collaborative, supportive, and reflective space for therapists to deepen their practice and enhance their work with clients. Grounded in the core values of the person-centred approach—empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard—my supervision fosters a trusting and open environment where therapists can explore their experiences, challenges, and professional growth.

What I Offer:

A Supportive and Reflective Space

I create a non-judgemental and compassionate environment where therapists can openly discuss their work, process difficult experiences, and gain clarity on their therapeutic relationships.

Enhancing Therapeutic Skills

Through our work together, therapists refine their therapeutic presence, deepen self-awareness, and strengthen their person-centred approach in practice, ensuring they feel more confident and attuned to their clients’ needs.

Ethical and Professional Development

Supervision provides a space to reflect on ethical dilemmas, boundaries, and professional growth, ensuring that therapists work safely, ethically, and in alignment with best practice.

Self-Care and Wellbeing

Therapists give so much to their clients, and I emphasise the importance of self-care, resilience, and maintaining a healthy balance to prevent burnout and sustain meaningful therapeutic work.

A Collaborative and Empowering Relationship

I believe in a partnership that values the therapist’s expertise and individuality while offering guidance, challenge, and encouragement to foster continuous development.

At Space Therapies, I create a space where therapists feel seen, supported, and empowered, enhancing both their professional practice and personal well-being—ultimately benefiting the clients they serve.

As we start a new week, it's important to prioritise our mental well-being just as much as our physical health. Here are a few simple practices to help you feel balanced and positive in the days ahead:

1. Take Breaks: Whether you're working or studying, remember to step away from your tasks for short breaks. A few minutes of fresh air or a quick stretch can help clear your mind and reduce stress.

2. Stay Connected: Make time for meaningful conversations with family, friends, or colleagues. A supportive chat can boost your mood and remind you that you’re not alone.

3. Set Small Goals: Break larger tasks into manageable chunks. Achieving smaller goals each day can give you a sense of accomplishment and prevent feeling overwhelmed.

4. Be Kind to Yourself: It’s okay to have off days. Don’t be too hard on yourself if things don’t go as planned. Practice self-compassion and give yourself space to rest and recharge.

5. Focus on What You Can Control: There’s a lot happening in the world, but try to focus on things within your control. Whether it's your routine, attitude, or personal goals, this can help reduce anxiety.

Take things one day at a time, and remember that prioritising your mental health is a continuous process. Let’s make this week one of mindful progress and self-care.

🧵 Let's talk about Burnout: A Growing Issue We Can't Ignore

1/ Burnout isn't just about being tired. It's an emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive stress over time. It often leaves people feeling overwhelmed, detached, and unable to meet constant demands.

2/ Whether you're a student, professional, carer, or creative, burnout can affect anyone. It’s not a sign of weakness but rather a sign that something needs to change in how we approach work and life.

3/ The signs of burnout can vary—chronic fatigue, irritability, lack of motivation, or feeling ineffective. But one thing’s for sure: it takes a toll on your well-being and mental health.

4/ Work culture plays a significant role. Many industries glorify overworking, with phrases like “hustle culture” pushing people to always be "on." But this mindset leads to exhaustion, not success.

5/ Let's discuss—what are some early signs of burnout that you’ve noticed in yourself or others? How have you managed to cope or prevent it?

6/ A few strategies that help prevent burnout include setting boundaries, taking regular breaks, asking for help when needed, and prioritising self-care. What’s worked for you?

7/ Together, we need to shift the conversation to emphasise balance, mental health, and sustainable productivity over constant "grind." Burnout is real, and it's time we prioritise people over productivity.

Let’s open up the discussion: How do you recognise burnout, and what are your go-to strategies to manage or prevent it? 💬

This thread encourages reflection, support, and practical discussions, and invites others to share their experiences and solutions for burnout!
