The seventh bi-annual Glasgow Blues Rhythm & Rock Festival takes place at the Oran Mor on November.

As has been the local acts impetus of previous festivals, the line-up includes three Scottish bands – Glasgow based up & comers Kelowna will open the show, and there are welcome returns for both Bison Hip and the Greig Taylor Band.

Also appearing are Mick McConnell & Blue Thunder.
Lead guitarist of Smokie these last thirty years, Mick released his debut album 'My Kinda Heaven' in 2011; his second album 'Under My Skin,' recorded in Nashville, was released in 2017.

Special Guest Will Wilde has taken the harmonica way beyond its blues roots since first emerging on the scene in 2010.
Later releases such as 'Bring It On Home' were impacting, harmonica driven blues rock but latest album 'Blues Is Still Alive' is his biggest and boldest statement to date.

Over the course of her noted career headliner Deborah Bonham has established herself as one of the finest blues, rock and soul singers in the UK.
A string of critically acclaimed albums, collaborations and captivating concert performances, have all garnered glowing reviews, including recent album 'Bonham-Bullick,' an inspiring mix of classic and contemporary compositions spanning seven decades.

The Glasgow Blues Rhythm & Rock Festival takes place on Sunday November at the Oran Mor, with a start time of 2pm and end time of 10pm.

Newly formed hard rock band Fireheart have released a new single titled 'Wild Hearts; Wild Nights.'

A power-down, fist in the air, rock-metal celebration, 'Wild Nights; Wild Hearts' "is all about release" says vocalist Russ Grimmett.
"We all carry heavy stuff every day, but sometimes you just need to switch off, crank the volume, and dance like nothing else matters! That’s what this song is, a tribute to those wild, perfect nights that keep us going."

Featuring Sons Of Liberty vocalist Russ Grimmett, guitarist Kev Baker (formerly of The Hot One Two), bassist Bret Barnes (Kira Mac) and drummer Chris Hopton (formerly of the Gypsy Pistoleros), Fireheart live up to their name, channelling their collective experiences, struggles and triumphs into a sound that is already resonating deeply with rock fans.

Fireheart has partnered with Earache Distribution to release their debut EP later this year.

Independent rock-blues artist Rebecca Downes has released a new single titled 'Hold The Reins.'

The musically atmospheric and lyrically pensive number, which comes with a bluesy underside and tempo changing twist, was written by Downes and her co-writing colleague and guitarist Steve Birkett.

Of the new single, Rebecca says: "Hold The Reins is a powerful, anthemic song about taking back control and not being subservient. It’s a call to arms to get real and make a significant change."

'Hold The Reins' follows on from previous singles 'Falling Into You' (playlisted by Apple Music and Planet Rock Radio) and 'These Days.' All three songs will feature on the singer's forthcoming, and sixth, studio album 'A Storm is Coming (due on 31st October).

Another all-original single will be released in September, acting as a further taster for the forthcoming studio album.

A limited edition physical CD of 'Don’t Give Up On Me' is available from the website.

The Black Eyed Sons, following their debut show at The Lexington last year, will be out on their first live run this November and December.
The band will be celebrating and promoting their chart-topping debut album 'Cowboys In Pinstriped Suits,' which reached #1 on the Official UK Blues Chart.

The Cowboys in Pinstriped Suits Tour Part 1 kicks off with two sold-out nights at Hard Rock Hell.
The band will then play a further eight dates, several of which feature up and coming contemporary rockers Revenant.
The London Camden Underworld show will feature special guests The Dirty Strangers. More support acts will be announced soon.

Ahead of the tour, the band will drop a brand-new single – a new version of Dig Me Out Of This Hole on September 5th, featuring a legendary ‘mystery guest’ vocalist.

Renowned rock singer Ronnie Romero has announced the release of his new solo studio album, 'Backbone,' out October 24th via Frontiers Music Srl.

The album has been preceded by the DIO-esque title track as lead-off single.

Backbone was produced by Ronnie Romero; mixing & mastering duties were carried out by his guitarist Jose Rubio Jimenez.
Special contributions to the album include guitarist Kee Marcello and acclaimed songwriter Russ Ballard, who penned the track 'Hideaway.'

'Backbone' follows Romero’s first solo album of original material 'Too Many Lies, Too Many Masters,' which itself was preceded by two covers records.
Romero’s debut solo album, 'Raised On Radio,' revisited classic rock hits from bands such as Survivor, Bad Company, Queen and Led Zeppelin.

Rising UK conteporary rockers Revenant have announced the upcoming release of their new EP 'Black Dogs and Sad Men.'

The EP, which follows on from previous, critically acclaimed EP 'Best Medicine,' will be released 10th October on CD and all good digital platforms.

'Black Dogs and Sad Men' will also be combined with 'Best Medicine' to create a very limited edition (100 copies) Coloured Vinyl run, bearing the moniker 'Black Dogs and Best Medicine.'

The EP has been preceded by lead-off single 'Lie You're Living.'
An insistent rocker, the song is, as the band comment "about fake people talking behind your back; people who take whatever they can from you and give nothing back; people who have given you grief for a long time and at long last you’re standing up to them."

Formed in 2023 Revenant – Sam Lay (vocals, guitar) Matt Hudson (guitar), Robin Nutley (bass) and Carl Donoghue (drums) – deliver a huge rock sound with a southern spin.
They have had favourable comparisons to household rock names from Chris Cornell and Alter Bridge through to Black Stone Cherry.

UK rock artist Slyder Smith has released a brand new single, 'Nobody’s Listening.'
Produced by Robin Wynn Evans (Manic Street Preachers, The View, Sam Brown, Dodgy), 'Nobody’s Listening' marks a bold forward step for Slyder Smith’s sound, where raw rock guitars blend with a modern production.

Lyrically, the song channels the frustration of shouting into the void in an age of endless noise.
"It’s about those moments when you’re screaming to be heard but no one’s paying attention," says Slyder. "We’re all so caught up in our own distractions - phones, filters, fast living - that real connection is getting lost."

'Nobody's Listening' is available on all streaming platforms, and as a limited edition Signed CD collectable.

Slyder Smith has been writing & demoing material in his home studio; this has led to recording a batch of songs with Robin Wynn Evans at TPot Studio in Perthshire.

Belfast rock band Silent Running, who reunited in 2019 after thirty years away, will follow up 2022’s 'Follow The Light' (their first studio album since Deep in '1989') with new album, 'Northstar,' on, 7th November.

The band have also released the first single from the album, 'Hit and Run.'
Of the new single, lead singer & rhythm guitarist Peter Gamble says: "For the first time ever I wrote from a female perspective. Hit and Run is about a woman searching for true love - 'the one' - but finding only men looking for something fleeting and physical."

Silent Running feature Peter Gamble, Tony Scott (lead guitar, backing vocals), Richard Collett (bass, backing vocals) and Gary Kirby (drums, drum programming, backing vocals).
'Northstar' features David Williams on keyboards, with Stevie Prosser taking on the keys role for live shows.

One of Ireland’s biggest musical exports in the 1980s, Silent Running released three studio albums, headlined numerous nights at London’s legendary Marquee Club and toured extensively across Europe and the USA with the likes of Simple Minds, Robert Palmer, Talk Talk and Stevie Van Zandt.
In 2019, they got together for the sheer fun of it; that process led to live dates and a live album, followed by a brand new studio album, 'Follow The Light.'
The band have also since performed with Simple Minds (as they did in the 1980s), Ocean Colour Scene and Madness; they are also performing with Texas through August.

Blues-rock guitarist Jack J Hutchinson will be back on the UK road this autumn with his power trio in support of his brand-new live album 'Battle Scars,' which will see release on 3rd October via Earache Digital Distribution.

The album has been preceded by the single 'Overdive,' which can also be heard on Hutchinson's most recent studio album, 2024's 'Battles.'
