COMPETITION! Can you name these 3 plants to WIN a new detox tea blend?

Most may call these weeds but us herbalists know they are powerful nutritional herbs used to support liver function amongst many other uses. What's more they grow everywhere and are abundant. So why not pick some and try?

Write down your 3 guesses and I will pull all names out of a bag for some lucky winners to try my new Detox tea.

SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) hotel! These alien looking lives are whats needed to ferment the tea. Everytime I brew a batch a scoby baby is produced. A hotel enables me to store them until needed. I have a lot now and wondered if anyone local fancied adopting a scoby to create your own delicious refreshing kombucha. I don't really fancy posting one!! So collection only! Go on be brave it's lots of fun!

Taste of my first ever kombucha and its delicious. With the elderberry, blueberry and rose flavors it is refreshing, fruity, tart and zingy. With a nice gentle fizz. It tastes a bit like cider. I added some ice, very nice! Very happy now and have a more experimental brew. Details to come. So have 2 x volunteer tasters anyone else local want a try?

KOMBUCHA

So after the first fermentation I have bottled this liquid gold for the 2nd stage of fermentation to get a fizzy tongue tingling drink. Can't wait to try!!

Here is the real creative part where you can add whatever flavors takes your fancy. I've added some foraged elderberry syrup, elderberries, rosehips, blueberries and rose petals. Herbs traditionally used to boost immunity as well as tasting delish!

The Remedy Garden

I used to be a manager in the catering industry working long unsociable hours. After my first child was born, I realised that I needed to make a life and career change. I studied Herbal medicine for 6 years and I’ve never looked back!

What’s always fascinated me about herbs are the way they grow wild in abundance everywhere. Plants commonly thought of as weeds such as nettles, dandelions, clover and cleavers all ready to be picked and used medicinally. I enjoy foraging and making medicines, syrups and oils from the hedgerows. My workshops share these cost effective and tasty medicines such as rosehip and elderberry syrup, flavoured vinegars, oils, creams and ointments.

The most rewarding part of my job is watching my patient’s conditions improve along with their growing confidence. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly results can happen.

I mostly practice western herbal medicine however I use Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese herbs along with their energetic philosophies. I also like to combine Bach flower remedies which aid in balancing negative emotional levels. I use my knowledge in nutrition to advise on dietary and vitamin and mineral issues and naturopathic experience in detox methods.
