Is Your Vitamin D Supplement Actually Doing Anything?

Vitamin D matters.
Mood, immune system, bones — it all relies on it working properly.

But here’s the bit most people miss:
If you’re low on magnesium, your body can’t even use the Vitamin D you’re taking.
It’s just sitting there, going nowhere.

Magnesium is needed twice — first in the liver, then again in the kidneys — to activate Vitamin D properly.
Without it, you’re wasting time and money.

And before you think you’re fine, most people aren’t.
Somewhere between 50–75% of people aren’t getting enough magnesium from their food.

If you’re going to bother supplementing Vitamin D, at least do it properly:
• Use Vitamin D3, not D2. D3 actually gets the job done.
• Take it with a meal that’s got some fat in it. Vitamin D needs fat to be absorbed.
• Make sure your magnesium levels are sorted — no magnesium, no activation.
• Add Vitamin K2 as well — it helps move calcium to where it should go, instead of clogging up the wrong places.

Sunlight helps too — but let’s be honest, if you’re stuck indoors all day or you’ve got darker skin,
you’re not making enough from sun alone.
No shame in it. It’s just how it is.

Sort the basics, or don’t expect your supplement to pull off miracles.
It’s not complicated.
