We will provide free inhalers and spacers for school
"Every child deserves to feel safe and supported at school, regardless of their medical needs", Dr Zubir Ahmed, Health Innovation and Safety Minister.
At Mickley we support several pupils with mild to severe allergies. We train regularly to ensure we know what to do to keep our pupils safe, and in the event of an emergency, act quickly and correctly. We have clear signage displayed around school detailing staff first aid qualification levels and where to locate the emergency anaphylaxis kit. Our spare adrenaline auto-injectors (AAIs) and inhalers are looked after by designated staff to ensure they are always in date and ready for use, and our Parents/Carers are asked to provide us with full medical information for their child(ren) so we can work together to stay safe and informed.
As we always say at Mickley, we are supported by a fantastic community and love utilising local businesses wherever we can. A big thank you to Prudhoe Pharmacy , this was the first time we have used them to order our spare AAI pens and they were fab, lovely having them delivered to school too.
