The Pain Detective Kim has worked as an injury specialist for over 20 years, helping people understand their pain. And hope to continue doing so for many years to come.

My name is Kim Anscombe and I have been detecting and resolving pain through the use of my massage skills for over 20 years, helping people recover from both acute and chronic pain. The most important part of my job is getting to know my clients, asking questions which develop a conversation that unveils the complicated nature as to why they have made that first appointment. Symptoms can be as a result of a minor injuries from decades ago which has developed, from rehabilitation difficulties following surgery or as a result major operations such as joint replacement, soft tissue reconstruction, disc fusion to name a few. The rehabilitation of soft tissue to avoid unnecesary build up of scar tissue post surgery is fundamental. Especially when you consider all the other factors that have to quickly adapt and simply may not beable to without help. Other treatment programmes related to Cancer, IBS and Crohn's, ME, Fibromyalgia and Menopause also benefit greatly from the more natural approach of soft tissue therapy (massage) and techniques I have developed to personalise every clients experience. I have seen incredible transformations in my clients’ understanding and well- being and take great pride in finding the root cause of my clients pain, often confused by the secondary symptoms. When looking after clients who gain a sport related injury, I draw upon my time as a professional athlete, understanding the need to remain active and positive when an injury takes hold. Providing my clients with the skills and confidence to take control of their injury / pain through a better understanding of what has happened and why. I am very lucky to have worked with some wonderful people over the last 20+ years, many of which have become lifelong friends.

I first met Kim 9 years ago after one of my many falls due to hypermobility and weak ankles. Only this time I damaged the peroneal nerve in my left leg which led to drop-foot and neuropathy. 

I saw a physio but after a few sessions she felt she could no longer do anything for me. As you can imagine this impacted greatly on my life, but luckily a friend recommended Kim who transformed everything. 

She quickly identified what was needed and with her amazing skills, dedication and care I’ve overcome those hurdles and even started Nordic Walking every week, climbed Sugar Loaf in Wales and did the Race for Life in 2018. I could never have dreamed of doing any of this, even before my fall! 

I also have back problems and tried various chiropractors, pilates etc with no success and so now go to Kim as she always sorts it out. And at the moment she is helping me with my recovery after a very difficult knee operation! 

I really don’t know what I would do without her. She has amazing skills and compassion and really cares about her patients’ recovery, which can be so hard to find. I cannot recommend Kim highly enough.

Grade 3 ruptured Deltoid ligaments, Tibialis tendon and Achilles tendon.

THE RESULTS ARE IN

Day 3 post injury
Inability to flatten his left foot and straighten ankle joint. Swelling around the foot and ankle painful to touch lightly.

AFTER LASER TRMT
Swelling reduced by 75%. Bruising developing and joint moving back into correct alignment.

Day 4
LASER TREATMENT & KT TAPE
Swelling continues to disperse
Pain on contact to 2/10

Day 5
LASER, KT AND & EQUIPMENT
Post treatment client can weight bear
