At Hutton Manor we have a diverse mix of activities for the residents to take part in. Yesterday we had the wonderful musician Bella who played a mixture of classical and modern pieces of music. The residents all had a wonderful afternoon.

On Thursday we held our weekly all about me activity. This is a great opportunity to learn new things about each other but also for new residents to get to know new friends. This week we discovered that Olive had lived in Ireland 🇮🇪 until she was 12 and went on to become a science teacher. Susan, who has been blind since birth has driven a car and flown a plane! ✈️
Our wonderful Brenda had been all over the world as a British airways air hostess, while Emma had previously been a mortgage advisor.
We had a wonderful conversation about each others lives and unlocked forgotten memories. We’re looking forward to seeing what we can discover at next weeks all about me!

Today we discussed relationships, we looked back at famous weddings including the royal wedding of Princess Diana and watched them on YouTube. We listen to songs that were played at our weddings or that had been important in our relationship, then asked the residents and staff what advice we would give to young couples starting out. Here are the results!

New years resolution today! Not everyone makes them but here’s a few from our staff and residents today!

Today was our big quiz of the year! 30 questions all based around 2025! We worked in teams of 2s and 3s, with team names such as the Mama Mia’s, the troublesome two and the Hutton Manor girls!
We had a mix of multiple choice and general knowledge questions. Team Butterfly were the winners consisting of Cath and Brenda, well done ladies!
Meanwhile on 1st floor they were having a party. They had music and some fabulous dancing with the residents joining in with their musical Instruments! It was a fantastic day full of fun and laughter and most importantly making memories with friends.

What do you do inbetween Christmas and new year? Well you play board games and get out and about in the fresh air! Which is exactly what the residents of Hutton Manor have been doing. Cath took a stroll through the park and spotted a friendly squirrel while back at the home Audrey Val Brenda and friends were playing scrabble!
Christmas movies and mince pies were enjoying by everyone!

Santa and the elves had a fabulous Christmas Day we hope the residents and guests enjoyed our Boxing Day bingo!

What a wonderful Christmas Day the residents are having! A visit from Father Christmas and a very special little helper! Chihuahua puppy Stanley Mistletoe came to deliver presents and spread good cheer, and was certainly the star of the day.
After lots of cuddles with Stanley the residents opened their cards and gifts while staff dressed the tables ready for a delicious traditional Christmas lunch!
The kings speech, Christmas chocolates and the odd nanna nap were on the cards for the afternoon. Family and friends have been visiting throughout the day with yet more gifts. We hope everyone has had a wonderful day and would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the staff to wish everyone a very merry Christmas 🎄🎅🏻
