Post-race blues after HYROX are real! But we don’t talk about it enough 🧠🏁
You’ve trained for months, pushed through every session, and then suddenly… it’s over.
If you’re feeling off, you’re not alone. Common signs include:
• Lower mood or motivation
• Loss of structure after the race
• Emotional come-down after a big goal
• Difficulty transitioning back to ‘normal’ life
One of the biggest predictors? Poor life balance during peak training. When everything revolves around the race, the drop-off hits harder.
Here’s how to handle it better next time👇
1️⃣ Recovery first
Don’t rush back in. Focus on hydration and nutrition to ease the physical symptoms.
2️⃣ Keep some structure
Plan for what comes *after* race day. Having a training programme, even light training, for the weeks after a race can help ease the transition. Consider keeping your coach on even if just for a few weeks post race.
3️⃣ Protect your life balance
During peak training, keep doing things you enjoy. Don’t let HYROX take over your entire identity.
The goal isn’t just to perform well — it’s to feel good before, during, and after.
