🌟 Patient Spotlight: Karen’s Journey 🌟

With permission from Karen, we’re so proud to share her incredible story of progress and perseverance! 💛

When Karen first came to see us in May, she was struggling with chronic back pain on the right side — a flare-up linked to an old L5/S1 disc injury from her PE college days. Bending forward was difficult, mornings were stiff, and her hip and glute strength had started to decline.

Together, we created a personalised plan focused on improving mobility, stability, and strength — combining hands-on treatment, targeted exercises, and gradual return to her favourite activities.

Fast forward a few months, and what a transformation! 🙌
Karen is now back in the gym doing squats, feeling stronger than ever. Her morning tightness has eased, her back feels stable, and she’s confidently integrating her exercises as part of her gym cool-down.

Karen’s story is such a powerful reminder that with the right guidance and consistency, you can move better, feel stronger, and get back to doing what you love — no matter where you’re starting from.

🌟 Why Your Posture Could Be Giving You Headaches 🌟

Did you know poor posture is a hidden cause of frequent headaches? 🤯

👉 Slouching at your desk
👉 Hunching over your phone
👉 Forward head posture (head jutting in front of shoulders)

All of these place extra strain on your neck and shoulder muscles. That tension can irritate nerves, restrict blood flow, and trigger tension headaches — or even migraines.

✅ The fix?
• Keep your screen at eye level
• Sit tall with feet flat on the floor
• Take regular stretch + movement breaks

After a busy summer (and a little well-earned annual leave for our team ✈️☀️), we’re back and ready to support you through the new season.

📅 Jodie will be away in Ireland 🇮🇪 from the 12th–15th for work, but throughout September we still have plenty of availability to help you stay on track.

✨ Whether you’re a new patient joining us for the first time or a long-standing returning client, you’ll be offered appointments with our fantastic therapy team: Paul, Patrycja, or Matt.

⏰ Evening appointments are very popular – this week, all late evening slots are already fully booked. If you’d like one for future weeks, we recommend securing it early.

✅ Daytime appointments are still available throughout September, so now’s the perfect time to book in.

🌀 Why Your Back Pain Might Be Coming from Somewhere You Didn’t Expect

Ever feel like your body’s just… out of sync?
Your lower back pain might not be just about your back.

🧠 Paul, our Senior Sports Therapist, explains how criss-cross patterns between the thoracic and lumbar spine can throw off your movement — affecting how you walk, sit, and even breathe.

When these cross-body patterns get disrupted (from injury, poor posture, or repetitive strain), your core stability suffers, leading to:

✔️ Persistent lower back pain
✔️ Hip tightness or imbalances
✔️ Discomfort when walking or sitting for too long
✔️ A feeling that something’s “off” but you can’t quite place it
