Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage £60
MLD is a light massage using skin-stretching, circling and gentle pushing techniques that helps promote the movement of lymphatic fluid in swollen limbs, post surgery or as a relaxing treatment for general wellness. A Manual Lymphatic Drainage should not be confused with a traditional massage. MLD is a specific massage treatment which focusses specifically on the lymph vessels to help the flow of lymphatic fluid. The treatment is applied to the whole body and the unaffected areas are treated first encouraging the fluid to move away from the affected area and therefore decongest. MLD helps to open the remaining functioning lymph collectors and move protein and fluid into them, as well as to help speed up lymph fluid flow through the lymphatics.
The treatment starts with deep breathing techniques called diaphragmatic breathing and repeated at the end of a therapy session which helps open the deep lymphatic pathways. An extremely relaxing treatment leaving you feeling lighter limbed and altogether more moveable.
