I experienced the art of Kintsugi this weekend to celebrate my birthday ✨

Rather than hiding the fractures, this centuries old Japanese art highlights them, honouring history, embracing the journey, celebrating resilience, and showcasing transformation.

In TCM, we work with our clients to accept ourselves as we are and identify areas for improvement, whether in diet, lifestyle, or habits. To find ways to overcome challenges so we can become stronger and more in control of our health.

This mindset is especially powerful when facing anxiety, external pressures, or moments when life feels heavy.

Embrace. Face. Transform. 🩵

🇫🇷😎 French President Emmanuel Macron was seen wearing sunglasses indoors at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday. French media reported this was due to a sub-conjunctival haemorrhage — a small broken blood vessel in the eye 👁️

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the Liver is said to “open into the eyes” and is closely linked to emotional regulation, stress, and pressure😫. From a TCM perspective, eye presentations like this may reflect internal stress or emotional strain.

In clinical practice, it is common to see eye conditions such as blepharitis, conjunctivitis, dry eyes, styes/chalazia, floaters and flashes, as well as pain or pressure behind the eyes 👀 In TCM, these are often associated with Liver imbalance and its emotional component.

Acupuncture, herbal medicine, together with appropriate diet and lifestyle adjustments, may support eye health and help address the underlying patterns involved 💆🩵

✨ TCM Eating Tips for Better Health ✨

We always share TCM eating advice as part of our service – good habits can amplify treatment results and give long-lasting benefits! 🌿💛

1️⃣ Eat warm, cooked meals 🥣🔥
Warm, cooked foods help your body absorb nutrients efficiently, provide energy and warmth, and support productivity, emotional balance, and overall wellbeing.

2️⃣ Avoid iced, chilled & carbonated drinks 🥶🥤❌
Cold drinks weaken your Spleen & Stomach, causing bloating, gas, and discomfort, and make it harder for your body to convert food into energy.

3️⃣ Eat 3 meals a day & don’t skip meals 🍽️🕒
Eating regularly keeps your energy stable, maintains a healthy metabolism, and helps anchor your emotions.

Listen to music to help shape the future of chronic pain. 🎶

Researchers at Royal Holloway, University of London, are inviting people living with chronic pain to take part in an engaging research study.

It is exploring how listening to favourite, personally meaningful music in everyday life influences pain and coping. Using short, real-time check-ins delivered through a smartphone app, the study examines how music affects mood, attention, thoughts, behaviours and pain as people go about their daily routines.

By taking part people can help ensure the research reflects real-world experiences of chronic pain. This is essential for developing future, evidence-based pain management approaches that are practical, accessible and grounded in lived experience.

The study is led by doctoral researcher Michail Angelos Kouroupakis under the supervision of Dr Vasilis S. Vasiliou. Participation is fully online and involves listening to favourite music twice daily over three weeks and completing brief, repeated surveys using the m-path app.
Data collection runs until February 2026.

As a thank you, participants are entered into a prize draw to win a £50 voucher.

To enter please scan the QR code on the flyer.

Zhong Qiu Jie Kuai Le! 🌕 Wishing you a joyful Mid-Autumn Festival!

As the moon reaches its fullest and most luminous peak, families across China gather under its glow, this traditional Chinese festival is a cherished time for reunion, gratitude, and of course, sharing delicious mooncakes and fragrant osmanthus teas.

The tale of Chang’e and Hou Yi is at the heart of this night. 🏹💫 After the hero Hou Yi saved the world by shooting down nine extra sun that was making the earth unbearably hot, he was gifted an elixir of immortality. To protect it from a thief, his beloved wife, Chang‘e, consumed it herself, floating to the moon where she became the immortal Moon Goddess. Heartbroken, Hou Yi began the tradition of offering her favorite foods on this day- the mooncakes we enjoy today.

This beautiful story reminds us of sacrifice, love, and the importance of balance—a core principle in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Just as the festival celebrates the harmony of the heavens, we help you find harmony within. As you enjoy the sweet treats of the season, remember that balance is key. 🥮
From our clinic to your family, we wish you a celebration filled with warm laughter, bright lanterns, and a heart full of joy.
