It was a pleasure to have the lovely Valerie from SatedaCharity at our group this morning, our mums enjoyed trying the range of maternity and breastfeeding clothing! Valerie also told us about the valuable work the charity does in our community to support families dealing with domestic abuse - to find out more visit their website https://sateda.org/

It’s national poetry day

and the launch day of my new book

Joy Chose You.

I love poetry simply for the way it connects hearts and souls. That’s it. Simple. It helps.

ODE TO THE OVERS
If you are an over-thinker, an over-feeler, an over-sharer, an over-healer you will know, that this way of being does not flow. It takes work. To constantly seek light, to stitch wounds, on skin so paper thin it barely holds our souls within. Poetry helps. It unwraps the pain to reveal the source and instantly floods comfort through like a force. Poetry is a pressure release, it helps the mental chatter cease. And when you are down on your knees, let it bring your soul some peace.

As well as up-to-date, evidence-based breastfeeding info, our group provides a safe space for mums to talk honestly and without judgement. Today we chatted about the challenges of changing toddler nappies, and the bittersweet moment when your little one moves up to the next size in clothes πŸ₯ΉπŸ’œ

In light of recent news, we would like to highlight that the Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has confirmed that taking paracetamol during pregnancy remains safe and there is no evidence that it causes autism in children.

You can also take the usual recommended doses of paracetamol if you are breastfeeding. Find more information in our Pain Relief (Analgesics) factsheet:

If you need information on taking any medication while breastfeeding, please contact our The Breastfeeding Network Drugs in Breastmilk Service team on Facebook or via email: druginformation@breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk

If you are unsure about taking any medication when you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you can also talk to your GP, health visitor, or midwife.
