I am working on my own house (I know, Crazy isn't it) I am replacing my kitchen kickboards and skirting with this Oak veneer board from Howdens, lovely stuff it is. This bit goes around a decor end panel, hence the J shape. If I flip it over you will see it is sitting on little feet, these are just poly top pins knocked in and are to keep the boards just off the floor and protect them from water spillages or just plain ol mopping the floor. We don't want expensive oak boards getting water damaged, now, do we ... 😉

Sorry for not posting last week, I have a big project on and it's not finished yet. This my dining room floor, Alison is away with the grand kids so, I am taking the opportunity to sand back the oak floor and re oil. It hasn't been done in three years and needs a freshen up. Here is that facia and guttering job I did earlier in the week. really pleased with how it turned out. Gone is the horrible flaky brown painted facia and guttering, (yes the guttering was painted as well) Now we have lovely low maintenance UPVC, much nicer, much better 😃

Today's project was to fit this Fab Garden gate. My challenge was to make a 2032 mm tall door fit in to a 1930 mm space 🤔 also the frame width was to small by 23mm 🤔🤔
The solution for the height was to take the bottom of the door to bits and reconstruct it the right size. ( I can make my own but these from Cashmores are so cheap) For the width I made my own door frame, using slimmer timbers. I fitted a high security deadlock as well as the customary gate latch for extra safety 😊

Today I built some steps. The lovely lady of the house has had a hip replacement and was struggling to get in and out of her garden. I think this will help immensely. (The holes in the mortar are to let water out) in case you noticed them 😉
