Mat2Life Yoga & Therapy delivers yoga and meditation classes in a safe, learning environment in Norfolk and online. Each student is listened to, cared for and taught the yoga techniques and poses they need to take them from the mat into daily life. One to one tuition is a great way of building a complete practice to address your specific injuries, pain or stresses. Forrest Yoga was created by Ana T Forrest over 30 years ago and constantly develops. This style of yoga specifically addresses physical and emotional challenges brought about by injury, old pain patterns, illness and emotional stress. Forrest yoga connects you to your core and gets you strong – every pose has a reason. There are four gateways to radiant health: Nutrition, posture, emotion, posture and structure. Posture is classed as a blockage and affects alignment and emotion resides in our tissue which affects our posture. It is energy in motion. Yoga can unwind and reverse this process. Juliet is a qualified Forrest Yoga Teacher and qualified/licensed Aromatherapist (International Institute of Health and Holistic Therapies). Another beautiful morning session in Quorn with an equally beautiful group of human beings πŸ’•

Today, we started with Yin to 'prepare the body for meditation'. Following this, we experienced a meditation designed to anchor us in the present moment through stillness and silence.

Each oracle card chose a soul and, so, the magic was woven πŸ’« - hope, joy, harmony, love, awakening, realignment etc were ALL in the space πŸ™

We followed with a dynamic Forrest Yoga practice to connect us to core and keep us 'in the space'.

And, of course, homemade courgette and orange cake and turmeric and cinnamon tea to finish 🧁 πŸ«–

Each one of us today left feeling a better, stronger and wiser version of ourselves.

That is the power of attention and intention πŸ¦‹

I'm out in Portugal at the moment.

I mentioned in a recent class how, at home, the magpies perch in a big tree at the back of my garden - all watching the sunrise.

As I went to watch the sunset yesterday evening, the seagulls were perched on the terracotta roof tops - all watching the sunset.

In Native American tradition, the magpie is the lifter of skies. The seagull, keeper of the shore.

Look at these lovely lovelies working with LOVE as their attention, intention and action. We did this by practising being kind and gentle to self, radiating loving support to others in the space and sending heartfelt energy out into the beyond. This is Yin πŸ’•

Pontoon pose is wonderful for opening the front of body, especially the hip flexors and chest space.

Snail pose invites us to recoil inwards - it's an inverted counter-balance shape for all the heart openers we did.

Inversions have a myriad of benefits including lifting mood, rejuvenating the skin and shifting our energetic vibration in a positive way, giving us 'fresh vision', aids better quality sleep AND stimulates the endocrine system which helps to regulate the hormones. Yes!!

All this and more... Yin Yoga gives us so much. All we have to do is relax and receive the benefits πŸ™

If you like to join us in September, I have 3 regular classes on Wednesday evening.

There is also a more focused session on Saturday the 27th: Expect a handful of Yin poses to prepare the body for guided meditation followed by a Forrest Yoga sequence. We close the morning at 12:30 with homemade cake and tea - just Β£15.
