This style of yoga specifically addresses physical and emotional challenges brought about by injury, old pain patterns, illness and emotional stress. Forrest yoga connects you to your core and gets you strong – every pose has a reason. There are four gateways to radiant health: Nutrition, posture, emotion, posture and structure. Posture is classed as a blockage and affects alignment and emotion resides in our tissue which affects our posture. It is energy in motion. Yoga can unwind and reverse this process. Juliet is a qualified Forrest Yoga Teacher and qualified/licensed Aromatherapist (International Institute of Health and Holistic Therapies). Spent much of this morning leaping around and hanging upside down at Bungee Fitness Leicester 🀸🏽

Cracking workout, exhilarating and good fun whilst feeling safely supported. As my friends and I left, we felt uplifted and relaxed at the same time.

Inversions (going upside down) have many health benefits. Not only do they lift our mood, reverse the aging process and support our endocrine system but they also restore and aid sleep. I'm off for a nana nap 🀣

I'm going to be arranging a session here for 12 of us one Saturday afternoon πŸ₯°. Watch this space...

Ancient Greek Philosopher, Heractilus, said "The only constant in life is change".

Whether we like it or not, the process of change and transformation is happening all around us everyday but, how we react to it, is a personal process and isn't an easy one.

Quite often our 'go-to' feeling is anxiety (hello Amygdala!) and that's normal because anxiety is the body's way of signifying 'change ahead'.

Our next session on 9 May will explore how we can use varying styles of breath to create different and supporting experiences for us.

The morning will start with Forrest Yoga to connect us to core and get us feeling what's surfacing in each of us at this time. We then indulge in Ayurvedic tea and homemade cake and end with a guided breathwork meditation, designed to cultivate a sense of calm and ease.

Being a qualified Aromatherapist, I also introduce you to the therapeutic benefits of essential oils which have a direct impact on the limbic part of our brain 🌺.

A Yin pose to stimulate the liver and gallbladder meridian. The liver is the 'General of the army' that the gallbladder reports to!

The liver cleans the blood and the gallbladder produces bile; a hard-working duo that shifts stagnation.

As we move out of winter and into Spring, the question to ask yourself is "what am I ready to release from winter' and 'what do I want to see flourish in spring'.

Today we learned about the relationship between the 3 diaphragms (respiratory, pelvic floor and thoracic outlet) & our stability and mobility.

I couldn't be more proud of the genuine curiosity in the room and the enthusiasm for healing others β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή.

Our session today was dedicated to breath and the importance and benefits of breathing with our primary inhalation muscle - the respiratory diaphragm πŸ¦‹

Homemade cake and tea, hands-on therapy and a beautiful 4-6-8 breathing meditation to close.

We often get caught up in thinking that success or happiness is found elsewhere but, truthfully, it's about nurturing what we already have.

In tonight's class, we hydrated the shoulders with breath and attention; creating space with every inhale and softening tension with every exhale.

Getting stronger doesn't always mean working harder πŸ’•

Last night we weaved Frida Kahlo's famous quote into our practice:

How do we cultivate self-care into our practice? Well, we might:
