πŸ’‘ It's time to light up for safety! πŸ’‘

We are proud to support the Child Brain Injury Trust (CBIT) and their amazing campaign, which is all about a vital road safety message: β€œBe Seen, Not Hurt.”

As the days get shorter, visibility becomes crucial for preventing accidents that can lead to acquired brain injury.

You can help spread this life-saving awareness! CBIT asks everyone to take a simple pledge - have a conversation with a child or young person about the importance of road safety and being bright when they're out and about (especially in the dark). Talk about why bright colours and reflective gear matter!

Let's make sure every child stays safe and seen.🧠 ⛑️

June 27, 2018 GloWeek 2025 will run from the 20th – 26th October 2025 This is your opportunity to get involved and to help raise awareness of being seen, not hurt when the days become shorter in the winter months. Today is World Hospice and Palliative Care Day!

The theme for 2025 is "Achieving the Promise: Universal Access to Palliative Care."

Palliative care is about so much more than end-of-life support. It's a fundamental human right that focuses on improving the quality of life for anyone (adult or child), facing a life-limiting illness, addressing their physical, emotional and spiritual needs from the point of diagnosis.

On this day, we would like to thank the compassionate teams and volunteers who provide this essential care and advocate for a world where everyone has access to the comfort, dignity and support they deserve.

You can find more information about palliative and end-of-life care here https://alcedocare.info/4pK81sW

There is often lack of awareness that a palliative care approach can include home care – Cassie from our Complex Care home care team sat down to tell us more.

Mental health matters - every single day. πŸ’š

Your mental health is more than a small part of your life; it is integral to every moment, affecting your motivation, your relationships, and how you see yourself. It matters on the busy, unpredictable days and the quiet, ordinary ones, too.

On World Mental Health Day, we would like to highlight the importance of prioritising our wellbeing. Taking care of your mind is vital for living a full life and inspiring a brighter tomorrow.πŸ’™

Check in with yourself and those you love today.

Looking for the best care for a loved one with dementia? In-home care allows them to stay in the comfort and familiarity of their own home, surrounded by family and pets. It’s a great alternative to a nursing home, offering personalised support from trained professionals. This includes daily assistance, medication management, companionship, and more, all tailored to their specific needs.

Our post for Non-verbal/Non-speaking Awareness Day is a day late. And that’s okay. Why? Because it reminds us that the perfect message sometimes takes time to process, and we will always take that time.

For our non-verbal and non-speaking clients, we don't just wait - we actively find the way to communicate. Whether it requires learning Makaton, setting up a VOCA, interpreting movement, using communication boards or facilitating sensory activities, our carers are dedicated to speaking their language.

With the support of a comprehensive Communication Passport for every client, our carers never start from scratch. We know their language, and we prioritise using it every day.πŸ’™
