💙 World Cancer Day at Victoria Care Home 💙

Some of our residents have lived through cancer.
Some have loved and lost because of it.
All of them understand what it means to stand together.

Today, they held a simple message close to their hearts — “We Are Together.”
Not just as words on a poster, but as a truth shaped by years of strength, grief, survival, and hope.

Through shared stories of survivors from around the world, quiet moments of reflection, message cards made with care, and gentle activities that brought comfort and conversation, our home became a space of connection and remembrance.

Across Edward and Alex units, awareness filled our walls — but more importantly, compassion filled our rooms.

This day was for those still fighting.
For those who survived.
For those we carry in our hearts.

Here, at Victoria Care Home, no one stands alone. 💙

Today we came together to remember and honour our much-loved resident, Josephine McCann 💙
30th March 1935 – 3rd January 2026

Josephine was with us for the past 3½ years, and during that time she shared so much of who she was. A gifted artist, a former English teacher, and a lover of family history, she had a curious mind and a warm, social spirit that touched those around her.

Through her artwork, photographs, and memories, Josephine’s creativity and love for storytelling continue to live on within our home.

We would also like to offer our heartfelt thanks to Nick, Josephine’s son, who has kindly shared his gift of music with our residents. His singing has brought comfort, connection, and a sense of togetherness, and it means so much to us that Josephine’s presence is still felt in this way.

Josephine will be remembered with great fondness by residents and staff alike, and she will always remain a cherished part of our home. 🌸

A look back at 28th January, when we celebrated National Data Protection Day at our home 🔒💙
Residents created colourful heart and lock artwork, decorated our display board, and enjoyed cupcake decorating, while staff took part in an awareness talk reinforcing the importance of data protection and confidentiality.
