👶🏼Osteopathy & Babies at Omni👶🏼

Today at Omni, I had the privilege of treating a 4 week old 🩷 — a lovely reminder of just how gentle and subtle osteopathy can be.

Babies experience a lot during pregnancy and birth, and even a smooth delivery can place strain on their tiny bodies. Osteopathic treatment for babies is very gentle, using light touch to support comfort, movement, and balance as they grow.

Parents often come to Omni after being recommended by lactate specialist or midwives, seeking osteopathic support for:

🍼unsettled behaviour
🍼feeding or latching difficulties
🍼reflux or colic-like symptoms
🍼head preference or flat spots

Every baby is unique, and treatment at Omni is always tailored to their individual needs.

Our bodies are always telling the truth — even when our minds confidently say “I’m fine!” 🤥

This week felt okay on the surface. Busy, productive, the usual!
And yet… here are MY nails. 🫣

Bitten down for the first time in years, sore, and showing they clearly did not get the memo this was a 'low stress' week!

A quiet sign that my nervous system was holding more stress than I realised.

At Omni Osteopathy, we don’t just look at pain or posture — we listen to the patterns. Tension, habits, breath, digestion, sleep, and the little behaviours we brush off as “normal.” They’re often the body’s way of asking for attention.

Stress doesn’t always shout. Sometimes it whispers through clenched jaws, tight shoulders, shallow breathing…or chewed nails.

Apparently my coping mechanism of choice this week was...my nails! 💅🏼

Noticing these signs is the first step. Awareness gives us the chance to respond with care rather than powering through with coping mechanisms and calling it 'resilience'.
