Join me in this end-of-the-year practice in Mindfulness Lab.
We settle into the practice with some of our all-time favourites followed by
R.A.I.N. practice (for the first time in Mindfulness Lab!).
R.A.I.N. stands for Recognizing, Allowing, Investigating and Nurturing. It is a longer practice that leads us through different stages of awareness and enquiry of the events in the mind. It is particularly useful for changing the relationship we might have with something that is often on our minds.

In this two-part workshop, we will explore the mechanics of breathing and the virtues of intentional breath control and its effects on our nervous system and physiology. We will look into nasal breathing vs mouth breathing. Abdominal vs chest breathing. And can we learn to breathe in a way that makes us more relaxed, or more alert? Life and breath are intertwined. In this two-part workshop, we will combine the latest science with the traditional practices of yogic breathing (pranayama) and experiment (safely!) with the effects that intentional breathing.

The science of breath takes centre stage in this two-part workshop. We will travel back and forth between the traditional practices of the pranayama and what modern science and neuroscience can tell us about different patterns of breathing and how they can positively affect our mood, health and resilience to stressful events. We will combine it with some of our favourite Mindfulness practices to hopefully create a powerful and joyful mix for you to enjoy during the workshop and some new knowledge to take home. As always, I will back all up with the latest science and with the handouts and homework to take home and practice. Join me in a scenic site in a private wood in Edenfield, away from hustle and bustle of towns, for 2.5h of Mindfulness practice.
Surrounded by bluebells, trees, and stunning views, we will engage all our senses.
Meditating in a beautiful forest may sound like an invitation to just sit and unwind. Don’t be fooled! There will be some serious mind training happening and 2.5h will allow us to push your mindfulness practice to another level. Not for the faint-hearted!
To take advantage of the fresh air and the natural surrounding, I will give some elements of breathwork practice. Those who wish will be able to take that further and experiment with how breathing patterns can influence our state of mind.
