On Friday, Norley Hall staff and residents took part in Breast Cancer Now's Wear it Pink Day to help raise money for life-changing research into breast cancer 🩷

The home hosted a raffle, with all of the proceeds from the ticket sales going to the charity, enjoyed some tasty treats and wrapped the day up with a good boogie 🎟️💃

Well done to everyone at the home who made it a day to remember whilst raising money for a good cause! 👏

Worthington Lake residents have been hard at work recently creating their Edward Scissorhands Scarecrow for the NT Rufford Old Hall Scarecrow Festival ✂️

Last week, they stopped by to pay Edward a visit after he went on display along with all the other fantastic creations. Of course, they had to take a stroll around to check out the other scarecrows 🚶

This is such a lovely way for residents to get involved with the local community and create something they can be proud of 🥰

You can check out the Scarecrow Festival from 17 Oct to 2 Nov, 10.30am - 4.30pm (closed Wednesdays and Thursdays) 👀

Today we filmed part two, this time, it was the Juniors from Wigan Youth Zone who came along to chat with some of the homes' residents 📹

Our newest home at the Standish Care Village, Langtree, benefits from having its sister homes, Worthington Lake and Lakeside right next door 🏘️

Not only is this great for enabling residents and staff to build bonds across our homes, but it also benefits the wider community, allowing us to host larger events and bring even more people together 🤩

Worthington Lake residents Mary and Sue recently had the opportunity to attend the filming of the BBC Songs of Praise Christmas Special 🤩

Of course, no outing is complete without a trip to a cafe on the way for a hot drink and a bite to eat ☕️🥪

Reflecting on the experience, Mary said: “We really enjoyed it, it was a great atmosphere and the singing was brilliant." 🎤🎶

It was wonderful to meet so many young people interested in a career in social care 🤝

Whilst our homes try to provide activities that cater to every resident, sometimes it’s good to plan something just for the gents 😌

Getting together and exploring new places offers a chance to socialise, share stories, and enjoy a day tailored to their interests 💚

But what if they were a place where residents’ health can actually improve? 🤔

That was certainly the case for one resident at Langtree Care Home, and the inspiring journey of her regained mobility 👩‍🦽‍➡️🚶‍♀️

Last week, we welcomed some special visitors to Langtree Care Home 🏡

The team from Overford played a key role in the construction of our new home, particularly Crystal and Jason, whose expertise was invaluable 🏗️

With future projects on the horizon, it was important for us to take time to reflect on the learnings during Langtree’s construction, celebrate our successes, and consider how we can adapt to the changing construction landscape moving forward.

A big thank you to Crystal and Jason, and to Mark Carnighan for leading and chairing the session 🙏

We want each of our homes to feel like—well, home! Not just for the residents who live there, but for their families too. That’s why at Langtree, residents’ loved ones are encouraged to make themselves at home, from helping themselves to drinks and snacks, to sitting down and sharing a meal with their loved ones 🥰

One resident’s granddaughter has been leading the home’s armchair exercise sessions, helping to make a difference not only in her grandma’s life, but in the lives of other residents too 💪

Millennium care UK established in 1997

The hard work and dedicated teams of each of Millennium care homes have not gone unrecognised all Millennium staff enjoy going the extra mile to make their homes extra special.

Millennium care have been selected for parliamentary review 2017/18 and have previously won many awards.
