No GENTLE CLASS THIS WEEK

This week's theme is mobility! ๐Ÿ”„

Today's sequences focus on slow but big movementsโ€”repetitive movements that find, play with, and challenge our current flexibility, giving us a clearer understanding of our current mobility and hopefully highlighting areas that have a limited range of motion. โš–๏ธ

I hope this class encourages personal exploration, rather than competition. ๐Ÿค”

After far too long I'm excited to announce we are back! ๐Ÿ
This week's theme is self-care, for so many reasons! ๐Ÿ˜Œ
One, the new year is a time that some people decide to make new year resolutions, however being the middle of winter it can be a very difficult time to start to a new habit. So seeing yoga as a form of self-care (something you want to do) instead of self-punishment (something you have to do).
โ„๏ธ
Two, getting back to movement after a long time of limited or none can be a tax on any body. Therefore, entering with a mindful intention of self-care instead of a previous self-comparison will mean a safer and more enjoyable class for all.
๐Ÿ“ˆ
Three, practicing yoga will always to benifit our physical health, but we can use this time to benifit our emotional and mental health.
๐Ÿงท
The class does not focus on one body part but instead the whole body, great for breaking into a first class back.

The class has been made up with squences that focus on areas of the bodies we use a lot during the holidays, for example ;
๐ŸŽ„Poses that work to spine to help prepare us for carrying heavy loads like presents, trees and decorations.
๐ŸŽ„Poses that work the hips to help us when we're wrapping presents on the floor.
๐ŸŽ„Poses that give us energy for when we feel burn out from all the festive tasks the holiday bring.
๐ŸŽ„Poses that work the digestive tracks after eating big holiday meals.
๐ŸŽ„Poses that help bring us calm and steady so we can get restful sleep during these busy times.

With the holiday rush slowly starting to come into force, this class is a reminder to come back to calmness and self-care during a period of time we give a lot of ourselves to others. ๐ŸŒ

Lots of today's poses will activate your sense of proprioception (the sense of where your body is and how it moves in space). This hopefully leads to more mindful and intentional movements, but also feeling more balanced and settled. ๐Ÿ˜Œ
