Please note the practice will be closed on Friday 18th and Monday 21st of April for the Easter break.
If you require a prescription for those dates, please ensure that you make your request to our website as soon as possible.

ALERT FOR PATIENTS

Due to the red weather warning and advice for people to avoid travelling, there is a high possibility that we will be running with a minimum amount of staff tomorrow.

If you have a face to face appointment booked in, you will shortly be contacted by our reception team to advise that you will receive a phone call from a GP tomorrow instead.

Most phone appointments will be going ahead, again you will be contacted individually if this needs to be rescheduled.

If you have a nurses appointment booked, this will probably be rescheduled. If you haven’t been contacted, please call us tomorrow to confirm. Otherwise, feel free to call us today and reschedule.

Please do not come to the practice unless it is absolutely essential or you have been asked and please only call if you need to speak to a GP. This will allow our limited staff to get through urgent calls and keep the queues down as much as possible.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Stay safe.

Patient Notice

With call volumes increasing to Ratho Medical Practice, please be aware that Ratho Medical Practice do not accept prescription requests over the telephone.
Please contact the pharmacy of your choice, order via Ratho Medical Practice website or email Prescriptions.s71420@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk
Requests can also be handed into the pharmacy.
Please allow 5 days when ordering your medication. Please do not book a telephone appointment with a Dr to order medication.

NOTICE FOR PATIENTS

Please note that the Practice will be closed Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th of December, reopening on Wednesday 27th. If you have an emergency during these days, dial 111.

Due to staff training on Wednesday the surgery will only be open for emergencies between the hours of 2 pm and 4.30 pm. We would ask that patients only call if they require urgent medical attention during this time. After 4.30 pm the surgery will revert back to normal service.

You can now request an extension to an existing fit note on our website wwwrathomedicalpractice.scot.nhs.uk You will find this under services.

New fit notes must be requested by ringing the surgery and making a telephone consultation with a Doctor.
