🔥 HAVE I GOT SOME NEWS! 🔥
🔥🔥 HYROX news 🔥🔥

Since the announcement of the end of our tiny-group PT, and EXPLOSION of the upstairs class timetable from April, we have been asked…

“So what are you doing downstairs?”

Well… I’m delighted to formally announce that downstairs will be renovated to our new ‘Functional Training Suite’

Home to our new “HYROX Training Club”

— and yes, this one is for both men and women; couple competitions here we come!

(Something I know many of you have requested for husbands and sons!)

If you haven’t come across HYROX before, think structured strength and endurance training with a race clock on the go. Running, ski ergs, sleds, wall balls, walking lunges, rowing, farmers — all timed, all measurable, all coached properly.

It’s an incredible way to hone athletic performance and find your strengths!

Structured. Strategic. Performance-led.

Alongside this, we’re introducing something completely separate to the Women’s Health Club…

The “HYROX Training Club” Performance Lab.

This is an 8-week coached performance season.

It begins with a full testing weekend (25th/26th April) where we time everything — race simulation, sled speed, ski pace, heart rate recovery, grip strength. You’ll get real baseline data from day one.

From there, it’s three coached sessions per week, tailored to YOUR baseline data, with live heart rate tracking, leaderboards and weekly performance reports. There’s a mid-season re-test and a final race simulation at the end.

Ten athletes per cohort. Two cohorts to start.

Only 20 spaces available currently.

Open to women and men.

This won’t change your current classes. It’s separate from gym membership. It’s simply for those who want something more measurable, more competitive and a little bit spicy.

Season starts 25th April for base-line race test day.
Programming begins Monday 27th April

🏃‍♀️ 3 race simulation days, timed, assessed
🏋️‍♀️ 24 Personalised training sessions in-person
✍️ Rigorous analysis and tailored support
📈 Performance sheets and reports
🥘 Nutritional guidance
📲 Outside-session training as needed

📅 Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays
Lab 1: 6:30pm • Lab 2: 7:30pm

£399 for the full 8 weeks.
£349 early bird if booked by 1st April (payment plans available).

Bookings open in 2 weeks, join the waiting list now.

Downstairs is about to get interesting.

Wives, husbands, sons, daughters, friends….

Let’s take on the HYROX challenge!

💪

🔥 CHANGES TO THE CLUB FROM APRIL 🔥

Ladies,

Those of you who have been part of this community for the last 2+ years will have witnessed an incredible transformation and evolution. From our tiny, under 6m x 4m, studio to what is now the treatment room, the PT Suite, a fully kitted out gym and large class space — it’s been a hell of a journey.

My dream to create a space for women to strength train is absolutely a reality and women are no longer confined to small group training; there is freedom.

With all the positives of this progression comes the reality that our peri weightlifting small groups have reached the natural end of their journey. I could see this shift coming, and as a result, I’ve been building something more flexible, more scalable and ultimately better value — meaning those of you who love our groups won’t lose out.

This February cohort will be our last in the current 1:5 format.

We currently run 34 of those sessions per week. From 1st April we move into our new peri-strength and health timetable. We’ll be running 64 sessions per week dedicated to strength, fitness and mobility.

You’ll still be able to attend structured strength sessions (what you currently do, but in a larger space with up to 12 women per class, paired across 6 stations, meaning we can sustain coaching quality), and you’ll also have access to Pilates, mobility, upper body, core & abs, peachy bums and more — all included.

You won’t lose what you do with us. You’ll keep it, and gain everything else.

…and we’ll run year-round.

Membership will also become much simpler.
Instead of £17 per session, it will be:
£60 per month – unlimited classes or unlimited gym
£70 per month – unlimited classes + gym

Anyone already on a gym + class or class only membership will automatically have all of these included from 1st April.

As we mark this next phase of growth, I’m inviting 15 women to become part of our Founding 15. This is simply for those who already know they are staying and would prefer to secure their place long-term.

The Founding 15 will receive:
A year upfront option including 2 free months
A 2-year price lock
The ability to secure 3 fixed weekly pre-booked class slots from 1st April

12 months upfront; payment plans available
£600 – classes
£720 – gym + classes

This will open to existing cohort members first for 48 hours. If any places remain, it will open more widely on 25th February.

There are 15 places available. Once they are secured, the window will close.

We are building something bigger, stronger and more sustainable, without losing what made this place special in the first place.

If you have questions, or want to be one of the founding 15, please pop a reply to this post

Money corrupts in both directions.

Big pharma has a lot to answer for; they’ve funded studies that only give answers that generate income.

They pass eye-watering figures to political parties, influencing legislature in a way that makes them more powerful.

… but the same is true for the holistic side of the industry and nobody really talks about it.

The medical industry has strict rules. They must disclose who has influenced funding and outcomes. Influencer culture doesn’t.

The supplement industry is worth £1.7 billion in a year alone, JUST for the UK. Bias exists and no disclosure is given.

❌ Collagen is great for your nails 💅
❌ Marine Collagen is the best! ☝️
❌ Detox tea will solve your gut issues 💜
❌ MCT oil is the silver bullet for menopause 🔫

There’s a lot of money to be made in supplements… and the regulations that control medicines do not exist in the same way.

They are largely based around “are they edible”; not do they prove clinical effectiveness.

Ouch.

James Smith PT recently did an exposé on supplement gummies and found that most had just out and out lied about what was in them.

I’ve been contacted countless times by supplement sellers, backed by doctors, or who are doctors themselves, making unsubstantiated and outlandish claims that THEIR supplements ACTUALLY do what they say.

You will have seen countless people online telling you that they have found a NEW way to manage your nutrition (normally with the word detox or protocol) and so you go and buy their book, or their programme for £50.

But, have they disclosed their medical research for that protocol/detox, have they been open about their funding, their degrees … or is everything based around…

“You’ve been let down by the medical industry… buy my stuff”

Is it sensationalist, is their marketing simply FEEDING off of your overwhelm, or is there evidence to back up claims?

It is so, so hard now, to differentiate shills from professionals, but a huge giveaway is someone screaming from the rooftops that big pharma is corrupt and out for your money… while simultaneously selling you a book, a course, a supplement that promises the world, without proper regulations.

But it’s not all doom and disaster, let’s look at a protective check list to find out how reliable someone might be.

Bad list
❌ THEY are the ONLY ones with the answers

❌ Their recommendations come with a discount code or affiliate link

❌ All the answers are in their book/course that is behind a paywall

❌ They have extremist takes against Big Pharma OR Holistic support

❌ They use highly emotional language in order to get you to buy - I’m talking “My client found 13 GIANT parasites in the toilet after my cleanse”

❌ When asked, they cannot provide concrete evidence (warning, some will misquote studies or send links to journals that prove nothing. Always follow up)

Good list
✅ They are balanced, occasionally recommending big pharma and occasionally recommending holistic alternatives

✅ They offer advice that is not linked to their earnings

✅ They offer research journals or can provide correct links for their claims, and they do not rely on anecdotal evidence

✅ They acknowledge that they are not the only one with the correct answers

⚠️ Note:
If they make ONE outlandish claim for a supplement they sell - it should make you doubt everything else they say. Ethics should encompass all, or it counts for nothing.

I know that the internet makes you feel overwhelmed, to the point where you want to throw your phone at a wall.

But all your ailments and problems are not going to be solved by one, very attractive, supplement seller on Instagram.

No one has ALL the answers and the best protection you have is to be critical, take a beat before buying and ask if they are backed by science or backed by bias.

🔥 Feel stronger. Feel like yourself again. 🔥

You’re going to tell me you have no strength in your arms.

You’re going to tell me you have a knee/back/shoulder injury.

You’re going to tell me you’re “too old.”

And I’m going to tell you - that’s exactly why this exists.

This is not a programme designed for 20-year-olds in lycra, making you feel guilty for the glass of wine you had last night.

Nor is it a jumping about, shouting in your face, hard-line class.

There are no mirrors. No thumping music. Just small groups (maximum 5 women) all at a similar stage of life.

Kids who are grown, but not quite grown up. Parents who need care. Knees that twinge. Backs that ache.

All brought together for one reason:

To feel stronger.
To move better.
To feel fantastic in your body again.

🤍

Don’t laugh.

Amy (one of our gym members) and I just had a chat about how we will avoid doing the simplest of tasks due to decision fatigue, not-another-thing-overwhelm, avoiding conversations or for a variety of other reasons.

And I said

“What about a club where you turn up, with your laptop or phone, list of things you are avoiding. We provide the coffee and a judgement-free space where you can do something on your list”

Amy’s were

- School uniform ordering
- Clearing her inbox
- Sorting a new phone contract

Mine were
- Also inbox
- Cancelling two of my son’s clubs
- Finding a course I need to do

I KNOW these tasks take me 15/20 minutes, and yet do I do them?

Do I fu**.

SO. Thoughts?

Who’s in for a “I have stuff I keep putting off for no reason” club?

03/02/2026

💥 Frozen Shoulders and Sciatica.

Something a lot of members come to us with.

Both usually hit around the age peri/menopause becomes notable (AKA as your estrogen falls), and that is not a coincidence.

Estrogen is a beautiful hormone, responsible for a million things, but for today, we'll focus on its relationship with Vitamin D.

Oestrogen strongly influences how well Vitamin D is activated and used. With Vitamin D receptors being everywhere, skeletal system, joints, throughout the spine and in many more locations, a reduction in estrogen, creating a reduction in available Vitamin D, has a hell of an impact.

Vitamin D deficiency is associated with:
• Increased musculoskeletal pain
• Muscle weakness
• Higher inflammation
• Increased risk of osteoporosis and disc degeneration
• Poor tissue healing

… and… 🥁 🥁 🥁

Sciatica and Frozen Shoulders and much more.

(In Asia, Frozen Shoulder is called the 50 year old woman disease)

So what can we do?

The NHS recommends you take a Vitamin D supplement Oct-March in the UK, and that goes for everyone.

Not to state the obvious, but I'm a redhead who avoids the sun like the plague; Summer may as well be winter for me and so I'm on the stuff year round.

If you’re like me, avoiding rays and packing on the factor 50, you should consider doing the same.

If you are 35+ and experiencing joint pain, lower back pain or frozen shoulders... get a blood test and check your Vitamin D levels.

You may get told to take a Vitamin D, no matter what, and that mystery joint pain MAY just vanish.
