Tommorow is National Schzophrenia Awareness Day! Schizophrenia is a long-term mental health condition. There are lots of myths surrounding this condition - people with schizophrenia do not have a split personality, and schizophrenia does not usually cause someone to be violent.

It causes a range of different psychological symptoms including:

- hallucinations – hearing or seeing things that do not exist outside of the mind
- delusions – unusual beliefs not based on reality
- muddled thoughts and speech based on hallucinations or delusions
- losing interest in everyday activities
- not wanting to look after yourself and your needs, such as not caring about your personal hygiene
- wanting to avoid people, including friends
- feeling disconnected from your feelings or emotions

If you're experiencing symptoms of schizophrenia, see a GP as soon as possible. The earlier schizophrenia is treated, the better.

Please could you take a few minutes to help us understand why the number of women attending their cervical screening appointment is decreasing and cervical cancer is increasing in this area.
We want to understand what needs to be done so more women attend cervical screening. We need your help to get this right!

Why do you think more people are not attending? Do you have any ideas on what would make it easier to attend?
Please complete a short questionnaire by visiting

https://nhs.welcomesyourfeedback.net/rn9qyx

It will take about 15mins to complete the questionnaire (the questionnaire closes on Sunday 20 August 2023).

Thank you for your time

The number of people seeking advice on bites and stings from the NHS website is three times higher than last summer.

Warmer weather is enjoyable for many, but it can also mean an increase in insect bites and stings. See our advice on what to do if you've been bitten or stung, and when to get medical advice
