Importance of off season maintenance ⬇️
Keeping on top of tightness during off season is way more important than getting massages on prep/dieting..
Here’s why..
Tightness accumulates, especially in the traps and can cause you to perform exercises less effectively.
For example, tight and overactive traps can take over on a lat pull down. Or upper traps taking over instead of rear delts on a reverse fly.
Because you’re fuelled, recovery is good, you’re feeling strong etc, you don’t realise it’s accumulating..
Now give it a few months of training and over-using the traps and all of a sudden you have big imbalances, struggle with posing and there’s a lot of work to undo!
So this is your sign to look after your body now, before dieting and keeping on top of maintenance and mobility so that when prep does come around, posing is easier AND you’ve grown in the right areas 🙌🏻
