March is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

Prostate cancer often has no symptoms in the early stages, so knowing what to look out for is important. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t ignore it.

STAFF LEARNING SESSION
We are closed on Wednesday 4th March 2026 from 1pm-6.30pm for Protected Learning Time. This enables practices to provide dedicated training to their staff and to discuss and plan ways that will allow them to improve services, meet demand and support the wellbeing of staff.
During these times:
For all life-threatening medical emergencies please call 999.
If you feel your request is urgent and cannot wait until the following day provisions have been made for urgent triage, please call 111.
For all routine requests for results, appointments, prescriptions, and general queries please call us back on Thursday 5th March 2026.

You can contact your GP practice online, as well as by phone or in person.

An online form – on their website or in the NHS App - is a quick and easy way for you to send your non-urgent symptoms and requests to your GP practice.

Tap it, type it and we’ll take care of it. Find out more ➡️ nhs.uk/GPOnlineForms

We are seeing a rise in measles cases in parts of England.

Vaccination is the most effective way to protect children from serious illness.

We’re encouraging parents to check their children are up to date with their vaccinations. Check your child's red book or speak to their GP practice.

We're looking at how we provide services to adults who think they may have ADHD, and we're inviting you to share your thoughts and experiences.

Wondering whether or not to sign up to our next event?

As well as the usual advice and support available from Dr. Emma and Samara, Catherine will be joining them to facilitate a creative writing session - Riot Women style.
Its going to be a brilliant event!

Meet Catherine -

I have been a writer all my life, penned poems since I was at school and have written for a living since 1988 as a journalist and author of the book about the murder of Sophie Lancaster.
As I have Grave’s Disease, which mimics the menopause, I say I have had the menopause twice. My journey with Grave’s was also blogged on my website https://catherinesmyth.co.uk/
After having my thyroid gland removed in 2018, I was put firmly into the menopause and am still in full flush – not the first flush of youth rather the last hot sticky night sweat of someone nearly 60.
Everyone has a different menopause journey, some paths are easier than others, for some people it seems to blight their life.
I am sure there will be light at the end of this tunnel for me, but at the moment it is still a bit of a fog – brain fog and far from chilled – another overheat and I have only just woken up – yes I day sleep and sometimes I sleep little when the rest of the world slumbers.
Getting ideas, thoughts, feelings and more out of your head and down on paper, I find helps.
There is no right or wrong, but there is solace in knowing YANA – You Are Not Alone.
Catherine
