“Sleep isn’t a luxury… it’s repair.”

🌙 It’s World Sleep Day

While you sleep, your body switches into renewal mode:

✨ Your skin produces more collagen and new cells
✨ Blood flow increases to repair and restore
✨ During deep sleep, your brain releases chemicals that help clear waste and protect against dementia

But this important process only happens when we reach proper restorative sleep.

If sleep isn’t great right now, these are some of the ways I can help:

✨ Movement classes – daytime movement supports deeper sleep
✨ Massage & reflexology – helping the nervous system relax
✨ Pelvic floor advice – to reduce those nighttime toilet trips
✨ Tropic’s So Sleepy range – calming products to support your bedtime routine
✨ Support and simple tips to help improve sleep naturally

Sleep really is one of the most powerful forms of repair our body has.

How is your sleep at the moment – good, broken, or somewhere in between?

Sweet dreams tonight 😴

Parabens — 3 Simple Swaps 🌿

Parabens are preservatives often found in personal care products, cosmetics and some processed foods.
Look for paraben-free on everyday products like lotions, shampoo, body wash and deodorant.

💄 Simplify your makeup
Cosmetics can be a common source, so try using fewer products or swapping your most-used items for cleaner alternatives.

🥗 Choose fresher foods
Focus more on fresh, whole foods and check labels on packaged foods where possible.

If you’re curious about paraben-free skincare and makeup, I’m always happy to share the natural products I personally love and use. 🌿

Decoding your cosmetics shouldn't need a chemistry degree. 🤯

That’s why we want to share all you need to know about parabens.

Head to our website to find more information on what they are, their link to breast cancer risk and our practical tips for limiting your exposure. ⬇️

Well… hello murky Monday!

If you’re feeling a bit dull like my garden this morning, you’re not alone!

But the ☀️will soon be shining at my Monday Move it or Lose it! and today we’re focusing on dual tasking.

That means doing two things at once – moving while thinking, counting, balancing or reacting.
😳😂

Why is this important?

As we age, our brains and bodies don’t always communicate as quickly as they once did. Practising dual tasking helps keep the brain sharp, coordination strong, and can reduce the risk of falls.

It’s amazing how something so simple can give both the brain and body a workout.

This afternoon I’m heading to the clinic to give two free talks on Pelvic Floor Health and introduce our new 12-week programme.

A few spaces left in classes and talk if you want to join get in touch

Have a good one - Be the sunshine in your day ☀️❤️

🌸🤍🌿

I’ve been thinking about the conversations the women in my circles have been having with me lately…

Since completing my recent training, so many friends and clients have opened up to me about their “little issues”.

Quiet conversations about pelvic floor issues that so many of us think we just have to put up with.

The little leaks 💧
The discomfort
The embarrassment
The planning life around toilets 🚻
The things we laugh off as “just one of those things”.

And honestly, it’s made me realise just how common it is — and how many of us simply put up with it because they think they have to.

But they’re not little.
And they shouldn’t just be accepted as part of menopause, getting older or having had children.

It’s made me even more passionate about helping women understand their bodies and realise that things can improve ✨

Through movement, awareness and the right guidance, there is so much we can do to support our pelvic health (and this includes intimate issues as well btw!)

And alongside this, the clinic where I’m based also has some amazing Winback technology, which can support pelvic floor recovery in a gentle, non-invasive way.

But most importantly — this conversation needs to happen more 💬🤍

Let’s start talking to each other. It really helps to know you’re not alone with these issues.

And on International Women’s Day 🌸 it feels like the perfect moment to say that women deserve to feel comfortable, confident and supported in their bodies at every age.

Happy International Women’s Day 🤍✨

And so it begins…

My lovely new boss doesn’t mess about — first shift and I’m straight in giving a talk! 🤣

Let’s hope my meno brain behaves and doesn’t wander off halfway through!

If you fancy coming along there are only a few spaces left, so message me and I’ll get you booked in. x

Confession… I actually hate most exercise classes. 🫣

Which is ironic really… because I run them.

I never planned to be a fitness instructor.
I’m a massage therapist.

For years I’d tell my lovely clients:
“You really need to move more.”

Most would reply…
“I hate exercise classes.”

And honestly… same.

But they did want to keep doing the things they love —
long days out, walking, gardening, fun with the family… 😅

Then someone said:
“If you run a class, I’ll come.”

So I did.

That was 10 years ago.

My classes were never meant to feel like a workout.
Just keeping joints moving, building strength and balance so life stays easier.

And most importantly…
making it feel less like a class and more like a bit of fun with new friends.

A while ago I completed the Meno Strength® course with Burrell Education and I loved it.

It’s one of those courses full of little golden nuggets that really make you think about how our bodies change as we age.

Some of the ideas have naturally found their way into my classes, including:

• balance work
• speed of movement
• dual-tasking (moving while thinking about something else!)
• strength that supports real life

It keeps things fun and interesting, (with some very silly activities at times!) but also reminds us that movement as we get older is much more about wellbeing and staying capable - than how we look.

And that’s exactly what my classes are about.

Many women track their periods on an app… but I’ve done something a little different for years.

Since my early 30s — when I first started having hormonal issues — I’ve kept a cycle diary.

Not a phone tracker.
Just a simple notebook where I jot down what’s happening in my body and mind.

Over time it’s become incredibly helpful. Because patterns start to appear.

Things I used to think were random suddenly made sense.

• tinnitus flaring up
• mouth ulcers appearing
• fatigue creeping in
• low mood days
• irritability
• headaches
• strange cravings
• poor sleep

When you write things down month after month, you start to see the rhythm of your body.

Now when something pops up, I often think…
“Ah, this is where I am in my cycle.”

It also helps me answer that familiar question:

Am I coming down with something… or is this just my hormones talking?

Understanding our bodies like this can be incredibly empowering.
It helps us be kinder to ourselves and make better choices around rest, movement, food and work.

It doesn’t need to be complicated.
Just a few words each day is enough.

Your body is always giving you information.
A diary simply helps you hear it more clearly.

Do you notice patterns in how you feel during the month?

Yesterday I shared how your heart effects your emotions ❤️ So how do we actually create heart coherence?

It’s simpler than you think.

❤️1. Slow your breathing
Inhale through nose for 5.
Exhale out mouth for 5.
No forcing. Just rhythm.

❤️2. Put your hand on your heart
This small action helps shift your attention from your busy head to your body.

❤️3. Feel one genuine moment of appreciation -
Not a long gratitude list.
Just one simple thing.
Right in this present moment.
Even if it’s a brief moment of sunshine on your face.

Research from the HeartMath Institute shows that slow breathing + real appreciation helps the heart rhythm become smooth and coherent — and when the heart rhythm smooths out, the nervous system follows.

You don’t need an hour.
You need 2–3 minutes.

Regulate your heart.
Shift your state.
Protect your mojo. ❤️

Have a great day! Xx

I love this piece of info!
❤️
Your heart generates the body’s strongest electromagnetic field, measurable several feet away and about 60 times stronger than the brain’s.
This explains why we can “feel the vibe” of someone standing near us—your heart is your superpower!
❤️
Why does this matter? Because you aren’t just “feeling” your emotions—you are broadcasting them.
When you are in a state of heart coherence, you radiate a more harmonious field into the space around you.
By balancing your own system, YOU don’t just feel better
— you contribute to a calmer, more balanced environment for everyone around you.
❤️
Tomorrow i’ll share some simple tips to help find a state of heart coherence.

Stress comes in many forms.

There’s the obvious emotional stress — juggling work, family, ageing parents, hormones, life.

Then there’s physical stress — the tight shoulders, the aching back, the shallow breathing I feel in so many of the bodies I work with.

But there’s also chemical and environmental stress.

The things we put into our bodies — processed foods, medications, alcohol.

And the things we put onto our bodies — skincare, cosmetics, cleaning products, fragrances.

It all adds up.

Your skin isn’t just a barrier. It’s an absorber.

What you apply doesn’t simply sit there — it interacts with your body. It can influence inflammation, sensitivity, and overall hormonal balance.

As we move through our 40s, 50s and beyond, our bodies are already working hard to find equilibrium.

This is why I choose Tropic Skincare.

Because I don’t want to add to my body’s load.
I want to support it.

At 53, I’m not interested in complicated routines or harsh ingredients.
I want nourishing, gentle, effective — and safe.

With Mother’s Day coming up, if anyone what’s to know what’s on my wish list… 👀
My personal favourites are in the comments below ⬇️

I believe in finding balance in life - 💚I’m not perfect with food.
💚I enjoy a glass of wine (or two!)
💚I’m not perfect with stress.
Life is busy and often complicated

But skincare? That’s one thing I can control.

Relax and enjoy a browse with your favourite tipple. ☕️🫖🍷

Wellness - what is it?

The World Health Organisation say “Wellness is a state of complete physical, mental & social wellbeing & not merely the absence of disease and infirmity”

Be it muscular aches and pains, stiffness and lack of mobility, back ache, tension, stress, anxiety, menopause and related illnesses or social isolation due to these illnesses or circumstance, I provide a range of service that may help.

Using a variety of methods such as:

Therapeutic massage techniques- relaxation, sports, deep tissue and hot stones.
