I really am blessed with the BEST clients! 💕
Today I was totally spoiled — a homemade sugar-free cake (technically for Neil… but I couldn’t resist a slice 🫣), a kefir drink to try, and even a giant ice block maker to keep my cold marble stones icy cold 🥶✨
Feeling grateful (and very well looked after!) 🥰.

💬 I love it when my class members send me messages like this!
👉 My classes aren’t just about “doing the exercises.”
They’re about learning why we move the way we do, how the body changes as we age, and how simple strength and mobility work can make a huge difference to everyday life.
Because knowledge = power. 💪✨
One lovely message I got this week said:
📝 “Hi Jo. I’m watching ‘Lorraine’ . Has a big item with Dr Amir and Shakira Akabusi about strength training. Everything you talk about in classes. Very interesting.”
(This was Friday 15th August’s episode of Lorraine).
I love that what we talk about in class is showing up in the media too — it proves how important this stuff is! 🙌
So if you’d like a class that’s more than just exercise, where we also chat about topics that affect our daily lives, come and join us. You’ll move better, feel stronger, and learn things you can use every single day.

Is this someone you know?
⁉️ Often complains about joint aches & pains
⁉️ Struggles to walk far or can’t stand for long
⁉️ Poor balance – trips, stumbles, avoids uneven surfaces
⁉️ Avoids exercise, or has physio exercises they’re not doing fully
⁉️ Finds it hard to get in/out of the car, bath, or chairs
⁉️ Doing less of their usual activities & could do with some friendly company
I can help them feel more mobile, confident, and connected with my friendly Move it or Lose it! Groups
💬 I’d love your help – if you’re local to Rayleigh, please share this post or tag a friend who might benefit.
Thank you! 🙏💛

🍃Wellness Wednesday🍃
I talk a lot about the Lymphatic system in my classes and these exercises are always included.
Your lymphatic system is like the body’s “waste clearance and immune support” network — but unlike your blood, it doesn’t have a heart to pump it. It relies on movement, muscle contractions, and deep breathing to keep lymph fluid moving.
Here are some effective exercises and techniques to stimulate it:
⸻
1. Deep Diaphragmatic Breathing
• Why: The lymphatic system drains into the chest near the diaphragm, so deep breathing helps pump it along.
• How:
1. Sit or lie comfortably.
2. Inhale deeply through your nose, letting your belly rise.
3. Exhale slowly through your mouth, feeling your belly fall.
4. Repeat for 1–3 minutes, 2–3 times a day.
⸻
2. Gentle Rebounding
• Why: Small, repeated up-and-down movements stimulate lymph flow.
• How:
• Use a rebounder (mini trampoline) or simply march lightly on the spot with a little bounce.
• 2–5 minutes is plenty to wake up your lymph.
⸻
3. Neck & Shoulder Rolls
• Why: Many lymph nodes sit in the neck and under the collarbone.
• How:
• Slowly roll your shoulders forward and back 5–10 times.
• Gently tilt your head side-to-side, then forward and back.
⸻
4. “Pump” Exercises
• Why: Large muscle movements create a pumping action.
• Examples:
• Squats: Slowly bend knees and straighten, 8–12 reps.
• Arm Pumps: Raise arms above head and lower them repeatedly.
• Calf Raises: Stand on tiptoes and lower down, 10–15 reps.
⸻
5. Dry Brushing or Self-Lymphatic Massage
• Why: Light skin stimulation can encourage lymph flow toward drainage points.
• How:
• Use a soft brush or your hands with gentle strokes toward the heart, starting from the feet/hands upward.
• Avoid broken skin or areas of infection.
⸻
💡 Extra boosters: Stay hydrated, avoid tight clothing that restricts flow, and avoid sitting for long periods & mix movement throughout your day — even short 2-minute bursts help.

Who else is being feasted on by mosquitoes this summer?
I never usually get bitten, but apparently my ankles are an all-you-can-eat buffet this year!
I’ve started keeping Tropic’s Tamanu Balm in my bag at all times — it’s like a little pot of heaven. One dab and the itch is gone!
I’ve added in the comments all the other uses for this little miracle balm.
The small pot is only £16 and lasts me ages, although you may want one for each bag! 😆
🍃TROPIC TUESDAY🍃
Tamanu oil is naturally soothing, packed with anti-inflammatory properties, and helps skin heal faster — perfect for bites, stings, and little skin irritations.
This weekend whizzed by in a blur of work and play – a bit of garden TLC (my “outdoor treatment room” where the calm begins) 🌿, and an afternoon supporting one of my lovely clients as his band played for charity.
Yes… I had cake. But it was all for a good cause! 🍰💛
I’ve been lucky to know many of my clients for years now, and it’s so special to share life beyond the treatment room.
