We such a great time at the ASLTIP 2026 Conference on Friday! ✨
It was a brilliant opportunity to learn, reflect, and most importantly connect with so many inspiring independent therapists and collaborators. There’s something really special about sharing ideas, experiences, and passion with people who truly understand the work we do.
Feeling energised, motivated, and grateful to be part of such a supportive community 💬💙💜

It’s Spring - finally! 🌷🌺 Longer days, warmer weather, and (hopefully!) a little more sunshine on the way ☀️
I feel like we’ve been in social media hibernation lately… we hit the ground running after Christmas and haven’t slowed down since!
That said, I wanted to share this incredible piece of work. Mia and Jessica recently designed and delivered a fantastic programme, supported by SEN teachers at a local secondary school and the impact has been amazing.
We’ve been working with the school for just over a year, and through close collaboration with their SEN team, we identified a real gap in Speech, Language and Communication (SLCN) support for Year 10 and 11 students. Many of these young people have faced significant disruption due to the pandemic, and some have had little or no SLT input, despite clear needs. Sadly, this reflects a wider national picture.
With exams approaching and students preparing for their next steps, we dedicated a full day to:
✨ Understanding & learning exam vocabulary
✨ Improving question comprehension
✨ Planning effective answers
✨ Developing self-advocacy skills for the classroom, exams, and beyond
The feedback has been fantastic from staff and, most importantly, from the students themselves. Even better, we’ve already seen examples of them applying these strategies in their learning the very next week 👏
A huge well done to Mia and Jessica - you’ve done an incredible job! 💛
If you’d like to find out more about our tailored primary and secondary services, we’d love to hear from you, please get in touch.💙💜

💜💙Welcoming Mia to our team!💜💙
Mia joined our team after Christmas and she has been providing some amazing sessions. We are thrilled to have her join us! 😀⭐
Mia has achieved a Master’s in Speech and Language Therapy from the University of Essex, following a joint honours undergraduate degree in Linguistics. She combines the technical knowledge gained through her studies with a compassionate and empathetic approach, delivering care that is both evidence-based and person-centred.
Mia has extensive clinical experience working with adults with communication difficulties, including those recovering from stroke. She applies rehabilitative knowledge to support service users in achieving meaningful, goal-centred outcomes, collaborating closely to set targets that are personal, attainable, and measurable. Her particular interest in aphasia has led her to contribute to projects aimed at improving care and outcomes for individuals with this condition.
She also has significant experience supporting children and young people with a range of communication challenges, including developmental language disorders. Her work within primary and secondary schools has provided insight into supporting children and adolescents in educational settings, enabling therapy to be adapted to their developmental, social, and academic needs.
Mia is dedicated to improving quality of life through speech and language therapy. Her combination of clinical expertise, academic knowledge, and empathetic approach ensures that therapy is impactful, collaborative, and tailored to each individual.
So good to have you on board Mia 🤩💜💙

💜✨ Jumping on the 2016 trend ✨💙
Pic 1: Newly married, London Fields pit stop, grabbing a quick Calippo between home visits on a spring day. I was a Senior Specialist Speech & Language Therapist at Homerton Hospital and had recently left the beloved stroke unit to join the Integrated Independence Team.
I was managing an early supported discharge pathway for stroke and setting up an urgent dysphagia pathway with the aim of keeping people in their own homes or getting them out of hospital sooner, supported by an incredible multidisciplinary team. I also led the videofluoroscopy service.
I navigated Hackney and the City on foot and public transport and loved every minute of community working.
I remembering feeling a bit nauseous in this first pic because…
Pic 2: My little B was already there.
Pic 3: With my first fur baby, Tallulah, enjoying bump cuddles and she’s still going strong today 💪🏻 🐶 🥰
Pic 4 & 5: Baby B was the best early Christmas present, arriving in December 2016. He was the first half of our family puzzle and it was the beginning of my parenting journey and the juggle of parent/work life… no one prepares you for how much things change when you become a parent and this eventually led me to my company today.
Life has a funny way of joining the dots ✨ 💜💙 #2016

I attended Beyond Behaviour Conference today (with the help of Magnus!) ☺️
A day of learning about trauma and neurodivergence - discussing ND burnout, language difficulties, ND culture and communication, supporting ND children through educational transitions and ND experiences.
Looking forward to embedding this knowledge into CISLT’s daily practice to better support our neurodivergent clients and the schools we work with
Lois 💜♾️🙌🏼💙

Castlepoint Independent Speech and Language Therapy
I am Amy Williams, a practising Speech and Language Therapist, specialising in swallowing and communication difficulties following a neurological event such as a stroke or brain injury. I also work within elderly care and with clients with dementia. I have a special interest in child speech disorders too.
I have been working as a Speech and Language Therapist for 13 years within the NHS and independently.
I offer comprehensive assessment and treatment of acquired neurological speech and language impairments such as aphasia, cognitive communication difficulties, dysarthria, apraxia of speech and paediatric speech disorders/delay. I can provide regular therapy, if required and appropriate and can include activities that the client can do in their own time or with family and/or carers.
I am also able to offer adult dysphagia (swallowing) assessments within a client's own home or care home and can develop an appropriate care plan from my bedside assessment, including liaising with other key professionals involved in the client's care and providing training to family and carers. This includes assessment for clients who may be approaching the end of their life.
Please call or email me for an informal discussion as to whether I am a suitable therapist for you
