Mental Health Awareness Week felt like a good time to share a little update from our Big Team Challenge💚

Over the last few weeks, teams across Kinect have been organising walks together, getting outside more during the day, and encouraging each other to keep moving.

It’s been really nice seeing people from different departments spending time together away from the usual day-to-day rush.

The challenge has definitely become about more than step counts, and the group walks have probably been everyone’s favourite part so far.

We’re also proud to be supporting Mind through the challenge and raising money alongside all the miles being covered.

💚 We wore green for Mental Health Awareness Week. 💚

Today, teams across Kinect Services came together to support South East and Central Essex Mind and help raise awareness around mental health.

Mental health matters every day, not just during awareness weeks. Sometimes the smallest actions — checking in on someone, having a conversation, taking a break, or asking for support — can make a real difference.

We’re proud to support a campaign that encourages openness, understanding and reminds people that they are not alone. This year’s campaign message is “No Mind Is Left Behind.”

Thank you to everyone across our Head Office and mobile teams who got involved and helped support the day. 💚

Mental Health Awareness Week is a good reminder that support matters.

We’d like to thank Essex County Council for organising access to the Employee Assistance Programme, giving our staff access to confidential wellbeing support, counselling, online GP services and practical advice for everyday life.

This is something we continue to share and promote with our teams throughout the year because wellbeing isn’t something that only matters for one week in May.

Sometimes knowing support is there can make all the difference.

Good luck to everyone taking part in the Kinect Eurovision sweepstake tonight as the first Semi-Final kicks off at 8pm.

There’s already plenty of debate in the office over who’s making it through to the Grand Final… and we’re expecting even more in the WhatsApp group later.

One thing we have been told to remind everyone of:

The walking challenge is still very much active, and unfortunately Eurovision watching does not count as cardio.

Who’s your favourite going into tonight’s show? 🎤

🌟 Congratulations to Dave, our April Carer of the Month! 🌟

Dave was nominated by one of our clients after going above and beyond to support their wellbeing. After noticing their garden had become overgrown, Dave organised a gardener and even gave up his own time to help make the space enjoyable again.

This thoughtful support has made a real difference to the client’s wellbeing and daily life. 💚

Thank you, Dave, for your kindness, compassion, and dedication.

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week 💙

As part of our focus on staff wellbeing, we’ll be hosting Digital Health Checks in the office from 26th June to 10th July.

The checks give staff the opportunity to take a few minutes out of the day to focus on their wellbeing, including stress awareness, heart rate and blood pressure checks.

A big thank you to Essex Working Well or helping us bring this initiative into the workplace and for continuing to support wellbeing across Kinect through our Level 3 accreditation and initiatives like the Big Team Walk.

Looking after wellbeing is so important, especially in roles where people spend so much time supporting others.

One week into the Essex Working Well Big Team Walking Challenge and our Kinect teams are off to a brilliant start 👏

A huge well done to Apex Trotters, who are currently leading the way for Kinect with an amazing 425.3 miles completed already. There’s still plenty of time left though, so we’re sure some teams are just “pacing” themselves before a late push 🏃‍♂️

It’s been great seeing our Head Office teams stepping away from their computers for a 10-minute lunchtime walk together each day. We’re hoping this becomes a healthy habit that stays long after the challenge ends.

We’re also raising money for Mind 💙 If you’d like to sponsor your favourite team, please donate using the JustGiving link below and leave the team name in your message so we can track the support.

We’ll post a reminder in the comments of who’s in each team!

The office is officially in full Eurovision mode 🎶

Flags are up, the sweepstake has started, and we’re also raising money for Mind to support mental health aware

Kinect has 8 countries in the competition this year and if one of them wins the Eurovision Song Contest, we’ll be donating £100 to our fundraiser 💙

It’s been lovely seeing everyone get involved and enjoy something together. A bit of music, laughter and team spirit can go a long way, and it’s a great chance to support an important cause at the same time.

It was great to be out in the community this weekend at a local fair, meeting people and having some really positive conversations.

Events like this are a lovely way for us to connect, listen, and be part of the communities we support 💚

A big thank you to Selina and Cath, who gave up their time on Sunday to represent Kinect – we really appreciate it!

We enjoyed it so much that we’re already planning to attend more local events… so keep your eyes peeled, we might be popping up near you soon 👀
