Referring to today’s carousel, I’d like to explain…
My comment refers only to the video showing the cleaning of the chair and the drill. As someone who presents herself as an educator and a representative of the industry, there is a responsibility for the standards being shown. My feedback was about the lack of professionalism in that specific content, not a personal attack. I believe constructive, honest feedback is part of education, not hate.
In reference to other messages I have received, I would like to clarify the situation.
I do not understand the connection between my comment and any other posts or individuals. My statement referred solely to a specific, publicly shared video on TikTok.
A person who publicly posts a video showing a podiatry drill being used to clean chair wheels is acting in a highly unprofessional manner. It is even more concerning when the same person presents themselves as someone from whom others are expected to learn proper polish podology or FCP practice. For me, such behaviour is unacceptable. Fortunately, to my knowledge, this person has since completed additional training, which gives hope that such practices will not be repeated.
I would also like to emphasise that I did not access anyone’s private profile. This was a public video, available to everyone, and everyone has the right to respond to content that may be misleading or promote unsafe practices.
Individuals who are regarded as role models or authorities should be aware that the content they publish may be copied by others, particularly by those with less experience.
Throughout my professional work, I have repeatedly stood up for the best interests of clients. I have taken over clients from a practitioner who performed only titanium brace applications without appropriate training, yet still undertook ingrown toenail therapy. In one case, the client suffered a genuine health detriment. When I raised this issue within a professional group, instead of a constructive discussion, I was told that it was “unprofessional” to speak out. This was not about judging others, but about addressing an issue that should not be ignored or brushed aside.
I am also aware that several people were genuinely disturbed by the video showing chair wheels being cleaned with a podiatry drill, but felt afraid to speak up.
I believe that client safety and wellbeing must always take priority over silence within the professional community or mutual admiration.
