We are excited to announce that as of 1st September 2023, we have changed our name to The Potteries. Many of you already know us by this name, and we believe that this change will help to alleviate the confusion caused by our previous name, Tilehurst Surgery, being similar to that of another local practice.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to serving you under our new name.

Best regards, The Potteries Team

Change to Patient Information Event – Monday 19th June 2023

Dear patient,
Thank you all for the interest in attendings Monday’s patient information event, it has been fantastic to see so many patients interested in attending. Due to overwhelming responses, we will have to delay the event in this format so that we can host it in another venue that would be able to accommodate more attendees, slightly later in the year.

One of the reasons why we wanted to host this event is because the surgery does not currently have a Patient Participation Group (PPG). We want to ensure that patients have an opportunity to feedback to us about our practice so that we can make improvements to our services, based specifically on patient need. We are looking to restart our PPG so if you are interested in joining, then please complete this online form https://www.tilehurstsurgery.co.uk/navigator/patient-participation-group-registration/.

We are looking to hold our first PPG meeting in the coming weeks so that patients can feedback to us on service provision and to discuss this larger event - so that we can plan it in a way that is most meaningful to patients.

Once again, thank you for your interest in this event, it is appreciated.

**Patient Information Meeting**
We have had an amazing response to our text regarding the Patient Information Meeting.
If you haven’t already responded I’m afraid we are now full.
We will however be looking to hold another event in the near future, perhaps using a bigger venue than the surgery.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

You may wish to share this.

UK government's emergency alert system and victims of domestic violence On Sunday, 23 April all 4G and 5G compatible phones will receive a text message from the UK government's emergency alert system.

Information on this system and the planned test can be found at https://www.gov.uk/alerts.

A 10 second alarm with vibration will sound even on phones which have been silenced.

Victims of domestic abuse who have a concealed phone hidden from their abuser should consider whether to opt out from the emergency alerts on their concealed phone. Please note that simply silencing your phone will not stop the transmission or noise of these alerts.

Opt Out iPhone:
• To opt out, search your settings for ‘emergency alerts’ and turn off Severe alerts and Emergency alerts.
• If this does not work, contact your device manufacturer.
• For further advice go to gov.uk/alerts/opt-out
Opt Out Android phones and tablets:
• To opt out, search your settings for ‘emergency alerts’ and turn off Severe alerts and Emergency alerts.
• On Huawei devices running EMUI 11 or older, search your settings for ‘emergency alerts’ and please turn off “Extreme threats”, “Severe threats” and “Show amber alerts”
• If this does not work, contact your device manufacturer

Emergency alerts are broadcast from mobile phone masts. Find out if your phone or tablet can receive alerts.
