Heatwave advice:

Stay out of the sun. Keep your home as cool as possible – shading windows and shutting them during the day may help. Open them when it is cooler at night. Keep drinking fluids. If there’s anybody you know, for example an older person living on their own, who might be at special risk, make sure they know what to do.”

Air pollution: this can become worse during periods of hot weather and affect those with heart and/or lung problems. Information on the latest pollution levels, the air quality forecast and health advice can be found on the UK-AIR website or call 0800 55 6677.

The practice has recently had a CQC inspection and the outcome was an Inadequate Report. An action plan has been agreed with CQC and the practice and our CCG comment as follows:

We welcome the findings of the recent CQC visit and in particular issues raised around patient blood tests and follow ups. Over the course of the pandemic, the practice has been limited in arranging blood tests while maintaining social distancing and keeping our staff and patients safe. Prior to the pandemic, we were rated good by the CQC and since the ease of restrictions we have achieved a significant number of blood tests and reviews. We are working closely with Berkshire West CCG and are confident in our ability to achieve the required target for testing in the near future.

We have 2 new members of our team.
Hannah starts on Monday 7th March in our reception team working 4 days a week initially.
Nisha joined last week as our new Pharmacist Associate. Nisha can advise on mediation and prescriptions and can also speak to patients who have minor ailments who need advice but do not need to take up the time of one of our GPs.
Welcome to both Hannah and Nisha.

Now that we are able to offer the covid booster vaccination after 3 months from the second covid jab, we have managed to get extra vaccinators for our booster day on Monday 20th December.
Please do call to book in if you receive a text, and, if we are fully booked, please also let us know if we can call you if we get cancellations.
We want to use up every possible vaccination and this will not only help us achieve that, but will also mean more people receive the booster jab.
