*NHS England - IT Network Issues*

We are experiencing on-going IT issues, which are affecting other NHS services across the county as well as GP surgeries. We have not been advised of when these issues will be resolved as they have been happening for the past week.

They are impacting the response times for patients that have submitted medical requests and likely to have a knock on effect to other requests during the week ahead.

Please be assured that we will endeavour to deal with all request received as quickly as we can.

Thank you for bearing with us.

April 11 is World Parkinson’s Day. 🌟 Today we stand with everyone affected by Parkinson’s — patients, families, and carers. Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition that affects movement, but with the right support and care, people can continue to live active and meaningful lives. If you or a loved one is experiencing symptoms such as tremor, stiffness, or slowed movement, please contact the surgery to speak with a clinician. Let’s raise awareness, support research, and show compassion to those living with Parkinson’s. 💙

⚠️ Important Update: Meningitis B Outbreak in Kent ⚠️

Here’s what you need to know:
• Health authorities are actively working to contain the outbreak.
• Preventative (prophylaxis) antibiotics are being offered to close contacts of confirmed cases.
• There is currently no new guidance for the general public regarding access to the MenB vaccine.
• The MenB vaccine remains part of the routine infant immunisation schedule only, with no plans to expand it at this time.

🎓 For parents of secondary school children:
If any vaccines are missing, contact your local Berkshire Healthcare School Immunisation Team:
• West Berkshire: westschoolimms@berkshire.nhs.uk
• East Berkshire: eastschoolimms@berkshire.nhs.uk

The MenACWY vaccine is routinely offered in secondary school and provides strong protection during the years when risk is higher, meaning most teens are already well protected against key meningococcal strains.

Stay alert, stay informed, and act quickly if symptoms appear.

🚨 Know the symptoms – seek urgent medical help if you notice:
• A rash that doesn’t fade under pressure
• High fever
• Severe headache
• Stiff neck
• Vomiting
• Cold hands or feet
• Confusion
