Did you know you can ask for help online, using eConsult. Go to https://westernelms.webgp.com/ and enter your details and the reasons for the contact and the most appropriate person will respond / call you back or send you an appointment. PRESCRIBING OF WEIGHT LOSS INJECTIONS IN GENERAL PRACTICE

As many of you are aware; there is talk now of prescribing within Practices for the injection for weight management. Despite it being announced as available on Monday morning, the specifications are still not finalised. Under the current guidelines and for the first tranche, there are only actually 19 patients out of our 28000 patients who are eligible, and as you must have 4 chronic conditions as well as a BMI of over 40 you may well already be on it, as a diabetic.

Please do not call the surgery, we will call you to invite you in to meet with us when everything is finalised. We have not written the specifications so please also be kind when you speak with the team, they are not the ones saying no!
