A proper plank builds real core strength. A sloppy plank? You're just wasting time (and possibly hurting your back).

Key form tips:

βœ… Neutral neck & spine - no sagging hips or lifted bum
βœ… Press through forearms and palms
βœ… Elbows aligned directly under shoulders
βœ… Engage your core (pull belly button to spine)
βœ… SQUEEZE everything - glutes, quads, core

Pro tip: If you're shaking after 10 seconds, you're doing it right! Quality over duration every time.

I’m calling out the Pilates pet peeves that all instructors can relate to πŸ˜…

From the classic "it's just stretching" comment (if only they knew!) to grip-sock-free feet sliding all over the reformer.

Then there are the carriage slammers who treat the equipment like it’s their worst enemy and the rep counters who miss the point of time under tension.

My personal favourite? When clients casually drop "oh, I have a shoulder injury" right in the middle of class. πŸ˜‰

But these little moments are part of what makes teaching so entertaining πŸ’™
