CS Hydro-Physio

CS Hydro-Physio CS Hydrotherapy was established in 2004, but has recently changed it's name to CS Hydro-Physio, when Caroline Hill qualified as a Veterinary physiotherapist.

CS Hydro-Physio is a canine rehabilitation centre taking veterinary rehabilitation and hydrotherapy referrals. CS Hydro-Physio is passionate about rehabilitation and we don’t do anything else. Focusing on excellence in every aspect of care for our clients and patients - ensuring the best possible outcomes and quality of life. Providing physiotherapy and hydrotherapy for post-surgery or after injur

y, to manage on-going musculoskeletal or orthopaedic conditions, or as a maintenance programme to prevent tightness and tenderness for all canine conditions

Having both a hydrotherapy pool and an underwater treadmill give us the opportunity to provide a flexible programme ensuring the utmost care for each individuals needs. Hydrotherapy can be used in the treatment of osteoarthritis, orthopaedic conditions, neurological conditions, muscle, ligament and other soft tissue injuries. It can also help with general convalescence and fitness

Swimming helps to improve general fitness, cardiovascular stamina, muscle tone and is also helpful in aiding recovery from injury or surgery and improves fitness, especially in the management of obesity. Muscle wastage begins within 3 days of any immobilisation so to prevent further weakness or injury it is important to rebuild, through safe exercise, any muscles that have deteriorated. It is better to swim dogs in heated water since cold water causes constriction of the blood vessels near the skin and to the superficial muscles (those just under the skin) which restricts the flow of blood making the muscles less efficient. Hydrotherapy is also considered to be a natural anti-inflammatory through its ability to reduce tissue swelling. Using the natural elements of water, canine hydrotherapy provides a non weight bearing form of exercise which can radically help rehabilitate pets with joint or muscular conditions. It also contributes to their general well-being and quality of life. Activity in warm water relieves pain and inflammation, builds muscle strength and tone without impact, increases joint support and strength and allows the body to return to a more natural movement pattern. Canine physiotherapy is focused upon restoring, promoting and maintaining function and physical well-being. It can be used post-surgery or after injury, to manage on-going musculoskeletal or orthopaedic conditions, or as a maintenance programme to prevent tightness and tenderness affecting locomotion and performance. Our Aim:

To give excellent specialist care and support to our patients and their owners. To offer a choice and range of specialist services at CS Hydro-Physio and to ensure that clients are given the right information and help to support their animals at home

☀️ How Hot is Too Hot for a Dog Walk? 🐾

Hot days may seem perfect for a stroll, but for your dog, they can be dangerously deceptive. Flat-faced breeds, seniors, puppies, or excitable dogs are especially at risk of heatstroke. 🐶💔

Even short walks in the wrong conditions can be harmful. If the pavement is too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws. And missing a walk is far better than risking their life.

🏡 Keep your pet cool, hydrated, and safe — always choose early mornings or late evenings for walkies and skip the outing altogether on extreme days.

"It turns out that pets also have their own "last wishes" before they pass away, something only veterinarians who euthanize old or sick animals are aware of. A Twitter user, Jesse Dietrich, once asked a vet what the most challenging part of their job was. The vet responded without hesitation, explaining that the hardest part is witnessing how old or sick animals search for their owners before they fall asleep forever. Shockingly, 90% of owners choose not to stay in the room during their pet's final moments. They leave, unable to bear watching their beloved companion go. However, what they don’t realize is that these final moments are when their pet needs them the most.

Vets are urging pet owners to stay by their animals' sides until the very end. "It’s inevitable that they will pass before you. Remember, you were the center of their world. They may have been just a part of your life, but to them, you were everything—their family. Even though it’s heartbreaking, don’t abandon them in their final moments. Don’t let them die alone in an unfamiliar room with a stranger. It’s incredibly painful for vets to see pets frantically searching for their owners in their last minutes of life. They don’t understand why they’ve been left behind, and all they need is the comfort of their beloved human.

While veterinarians do everything they can to ease the fear and anxiety of these animals, they are still strangers to them. Don’t let your own pain make you walk away. Be brave for them. Endure that heartache, and stay by their side until the very end. They deserve your love and presence in their final moments. "💞🙏
