Meet Rachael! 👋🏽

Rachael Hodge is a top notch Soft Tissue Therapist who will be joining our team in June.

She is a graduate of the Oxford School of Sports Massage and has a BTEC Level 5 qualification in Soft Tissue Therapy. She has lots of experience working with athletes from a variety of sports as well as all the usual aches and pains the rest of us suffer with.

Having completed nationally and internationally in both rowing and snowboarding, as well as completing numerous triathlons, marathons and ultra marathons, Rachael has a strong interest in high- performance sport and the management of training load and injuries.

She currently works with the prestigious Oxford University Boat Club supporting athletes and their rehabilitation programs.

We are thrilled to have Rachael join the team. Her first clinic availability will be from Tuesday 10th June and she will offer important additional sports massage capacity for all of our Elevate Members!

Dan is now 9.5 months post ACL reconstruction and is entering the final phase of his rehabilitation in preparation for a phased return to football training in the next 4-6 weeks.

His pitch session today was planned and delivered by our University of Bath placement student Chelsea Lewis. The focus was on:

▫️Acceleration/decelerations
▫️Curved and more extensive running
▫️Change of direction with passing drills
▫️Smoother running mechanics

This was his first rehab session of the week so we managed the volume of the session ahead of a more specific strength/gym rehab session tomorrow.

Chelsea did brilliantly as did Dan who is looking smoother in his running week by week. We are grateful for our partnership with Reading University who allow us to use their pitches for sessions such as these.

New Podcast Episode.. 🎙️

Alex Voakes ambitiously signed up for the New York Marathon 15 years ago on a whim. Since then he has fallen in love with marathon and ultra marathon distances. Prior to running his first 100mile race last week he sat down with Tristan to discuss many of the lessons he has learned in the subsequent years as he works towards completion of the World Marathon Majors early next year.

This is an interview we have been looking forward to for several months and is an inspiring listen for all long distance runners. Enjoy!

New GoPerform Podcast Episode! 🎙️

Sports Science students Amelia and Chelsea are half way through their placement year at GoPerform. In this conversation with placement mentor Jonny they reflect on their experiences so far, the benefits of working across a broad population and finding their feet with coaching and working independently as part of a busy multi-disciplinary team.

This is a must listen for any Sports Science (or similar) students wanting to know more about their options and considering doing a placement year. At GoPerform we have been fortunate enough to offer placements and internships for the past 7 years and these students perform a really important role in the GoPerform community. Amelia (Solent University) and Chelsea (University of Bath) have slotted in seamlessly and we are excited to see them continue to flourish in the second part of their placement year with us.
