Hello all,

We have an urgent request for a live-in carer! The job starts on the 14th of September 2023 and requires both past live-in experience and a full driving licence with access to your own car.

If you do not have access to your own car and past live-in experience please do not apply for this role.

The job is based in the Reading, Berkshire area and will be a 4-week on 4-week off work pattern, more information will be provided if we are happy with your CV.

The Prospective Client:

She loves to go out for walks and look at the countryside and sit in the garden watching the Munk Jack Deer that wander in and eat the flowers. She is bright bubbly and loves meeting friends for coffee or attending plays talks and Women’s Institute Meetings. She has a very supportive family who like to have dinner with her on a Thursday evening and Sunday evening at their house. Both daughters are very supportive and loving to their mother. She is a pillar of the community and loves their garden parties, talks and services at the local Church.

She has the beginnings of Dementia/Alzheimer’s and sometimes will forget that you live with her and she gets frustrated with bathing and washing, mistakenly thinking it has already been done. If you give her teeth cleaning items she will clean. Gentle persuasion is needed to ensure hygiene and she loves her trips to the hairdressers and to have brightly coloured nails done at the salon. She loves music and you may need to attend lovely Jazz Concerts with her and for a lady her age she can swing sing and dance with the best. She does not sleep well and will make her own way to bed late in the evening but loves having tea and breakfast in bed along with doughnuts from the stall at Savages on a Saturday.

She needs monitoring medically and has to have bloods done to monitor her health as well as monitoring for BP. She loves to eat food lovely fresh fruits vegetables and a wide choice of foods. She has no problem with taking her medications assisted and sometimes thinks she has cleaned up already so you have to gently show that you need to clean. She would wear the same clothing for a few days so you will need to be clever with washing.

She loves Tennis and her special cat Billy who is a little hunter. She is well educated and well travelled so is easy to chat with. A lovely lady and a lovely job.

If you are interested in this role please get in touch by emailing your CV and driving licence to alice.meads@q1care.co.uk

Please ensure you are able to start on the 14th of September 2023 - looking forward to hearing from you!

Q1CARE ACQUIRED BY SIMON MAHONY AND KINALTA GROUP:

Q1Care, one of the Gap’s most successful home care providers, is pleased to announce that it has been acquired by Kinalta Group run by experienced entrepreneur Simon Mahony.

Simon Mahony says:

“I’m delighted that Q1Care will continue to be owned and operated by a family committed to providing the very best care. My own family has been in the care business for three generations, and I am looking forward to carrying on that tradition of outstanding care with Q1Care.

We are delighted that Melanie will continue to be a trustee of the Q1Foundation which runs the Hub in Goring and provides advice and support for our more vulnerable members of the community.”

Melanie Meads says:

“I am extremely proud to have established Q1Care, navigated through the stresses and strains of not only Brexit but the Pandemic which provided an enormous challenge for our business, our clients, and staff. I would like to thank everyone who has been a part of the journey to date.

I now want to focus my attention on the Hub and feel that the time is right for the business to be taken to the next level by Simon and his family. I rejected discussions with a number of other parties where I did not feel that they shared our ethos.

I look forward to seeing Q1 continue to flourish under its new ownership and for the Hub to continue with its vital work for our community.”

Please contact Simon on Simon.Mahony@Q1care.co.uk or Michelle on Michelle.McDonnell@Q1care.co.uk regarding any business enquiries.

For anything to do with the Hub please contact Melanie on melanie.meads@q1foundation.org.uk
