Hello all,
We have an urgent request for a live-in carer! The job starts on the 14th of September 2023 and requires both past live-in experience and a full driving licence with access to your own car.
If you do not have access to your own car and past live-in experience please do not apply for this role.
The job is based in the Reading, Berkshire area and will be a 4-week on 4-week off work pattern, more information will be provided if we are happy with your CV.
The Prospective Client:
She loves to go out for walks and look at the countryside and sit in the garden watching the Munk Jack Deer that wander in and eat the flowers. She is bright bubbly and loves meeting friends for coffee or attending plays talks and Women’s Institute Meetings. She has a very supportive family who like to have dinner with her on a Thursday evening and Sunday evening at their house. Both daughters are very supportive and loving to their mother. She is a pillar of the community and loves their garden parties, talks and services at the local Church.
She has the beginnings of Dementia/Alzheimer’s and sometimes will forget that you live with her and she gets frustrated with bathing and washing, mistakenly thinking it has already been done. If you give her teeth cleaning items she will clean. Gentle persuasion is needed to ensure hygiene and she loves her trips to the hairdressers and to have brightly coloured nails done at the salon. She loves music and you may need to attend lovely Jazz Concerts with her and for a lady her age she can swing sing and dance with the best. She does not sleep well and will make her own way to bed late in the evening but loves having tea and breakfast in bed along with doughnuts from the stall at Savages on a Saturday.
She needs monitoring medically and has to have bloods done to monitor her health as well as monitoring for BP. She loves to eat food lovely fresh fruits vegetables and a wide choice of foods. She has no problem with taking her medications assisted and sometimes thinks she has cleaned up already so you have to gently show that you need to clean. She would wear the same clothing for a few days so you will need to be clever with washing.
She loves Tennis and her special cat Billy who is a little hunter. She is well educated and well travelled so is easy to chat with. A lovely lady and a lovely job.
