A few of us braved the British summer weather this morning for a lovely outing with the amazing team at WABC - Wallingford Accessible Boat Club 🚤💦 We sailed up to the lock and back, taking in the wildlife, the swans, and all the other boats along the way, such a peaceful few hours on the water! 🦢⚓️🌾

A celebration of sunshine, laughter, and everything we love about summer

🌻 Eddie sees sunflowers reaching for the sky,
While boats float gently where David’s dreams lie.
☀️ Sunshine warms us, the sea sparkles bright,
Shirley L licks ice cream, her face full of light.

🍓 Maureen picks berries, hands stained and sweet,
In her garden retreat, where summer feels complete.
🏖️ Rita builds castles with golden wet sand,
Then swims in the sea, holding joy in her hand.

🌼 Dottie adores the bright blooms in the breeze,
Henry walks paths beneath colourful trees.
🍏 Joyce tastes apples and plums, candy floss too,
As Maurice watches cricket and bees passing through.

🐦 Jimmy hears birdsong and children at play,
Buckets and spades and the joy of the day.
🥂 Peter lifts Pimm’s on a holiday cheer,
While Pat finds cool shade when the sun’s too near.

🌊 Fred hears the waves and hikes up the steep,
Then gardens in peace as the long evenings creep.
👨‍👩‍👧 Cynthia remembers her children’s delight,
Summer holidays glowing warm and bright.

🐴 Shirley smiles at the donkeys in sand,
Barrie drives open-top cars so grand.
🎡 Fair rides spin as the bees buzz low,
And Pearl strolls by her beach hut aglow.

🌞 Joy simply loves the warmth in the air,
Summer’s sweet magic is found everywhere.

Today our residents were treated to a special performance by Goring & Streatley Concert Band and their clarinet ensemble 🎷💙 The room was filled with beautiful melodies, toe-tapping rhythms, and lots of smiles.

Live music always brings such joy and connection, and it was wonderful to see everyone so engaged and relaxed. A big thank you to the talented musicians for sharing their time and talents with us!

Our amazing residents had a fabulous time at this morning’s exercise class with the one and only Camellia! We took it outside to the patio, soaked up the sunshine, and got moving, we look forward to your next visit.

Our amazing residents rolled up their sleeves and got baking this week, creating a mouth-watering batch of lemon curd, jam, and marmalade tarts! Just look at those golden crusts and fruity fillings—each one handmade with love and topped with a star. 🌟

Barrie shared his expert opinion:
“The best marmalade is from Dundee!” 🧡🍊

And for Peter, it was a trip down memory lane:
“I used to make these with my mother—it brings back lovely memories.” 🥰🍓

What a lovely afternoon we had as Wings of Freedom brought their incredible birds of prey to visit us! Residents were delighted to meet majestic owls and falcons up close

These beautiful creatures sparked many conversations. What a soaring success! 💫
